5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Pinch of red pepper flakes
2 pounds green beans, trimmed and halved
1 14-ounce can cherry tomatoes Kosher salt
3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring, until slightly darkened, about 2 minutes. Add the rosemary, garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until the garlic starts browning, about 1 minute.
  • Add the green beans, cherry tomatoes and their liquid, 1 3/4 cups water and 2 teaspoons salt to the pot. Partially cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender and the liquid is slightly thickened, 20 to 25 minutes. Transfer to a 3-quart baking dish.
  • Mix the panko, parmesan, parsley and the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a bowl; season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the green bean mixture and bake until the sauce is bubbling and the topping is browned, about 15 minutes.

1 package (14 ounces) thick-sliced bacon strips, chopped
1 large red onion, chopped
2 packages (16 ounces each) frozen cut green beans
1 can (28 ounces) petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon seasoned pepper
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 can (16 ounces) red beans, rinsed and drained

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until partially cooked but not crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard drippings, reserving 2 tablespoons. Add onion to drippings; cook and stir over medium-high heat until tender., In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine green beans, tomatoes, brown sugar, pepper, salt, bacon and onion. Cook, covered, on low 4 hours. Stir in red beans. Cook until heated through, about 30 minutes longer.

1 ½ pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup water
1 pound sliced Canadian bacon, cut into strips
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
ground black pepper to taste
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup
1 ¼ cups milk
½ cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large pot, combine the green beans, onion and water. Bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a 2 quart casserole dish. While the beans cook, fry the Canadian bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Stir in with the beans along with the cream of celery soup and milk. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until heated through and sauce is bubbly. This recipe also works well to make ahead and refrigerate or freeze until needed. If baking cold, bake for 1 hour.

8 ounces bacon (cooked until crispy & chopped)
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Place rack in center position of oven and preheat to 350°F.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water (or chicken broth) to a boil. Add the green beans and simmer for 15 minutes. Drain and transfer to an approximately 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
  • Sprinkle chopped bacon over the green beans in the baking dish. Melt the butter (in a glass measuring cup in the microwave or in a small saucepan on the stove). Stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper until well combined. Pour over the green beans and bacon in the baking dish and toss until all ingredients are coated. 1/2 yellow onion (cut into thin slices)
1 (12 ounce) package fresh green beans (trimmed and cut in half)
1 (28 ounce) can whole fire-roasted tomatoes (drained)
3 1/2 cups unsalted chicken broth
1 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
Pinch red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Add the bacon to a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sauté for about 3 minutes, then add the onion and continue to sauté. Stir often, for another 3-4 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the prepared green beans, along with the fire-roasted tomatoes. Use the back of a wooden spoon and crush/break apart the tomatoes.

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, or more if needed
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese, or to taste
halved grape tomatoes

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil; cook green beans at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, 5 to 10 minutes; drain and transfer to a 9x13-inch dish.
  • Cook and stir onions, vinegar, garlic, sugar, basil, and oregano in a skillet over medium heat until onions are softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking and stirring until onions are very tender and dark brown, 15 to 20 minutes more.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Spread onion mixture over green beans and top with Parmesan cheese. Arrange tomatoes, cut sides down, atop Parmesan cheese layer.

1 (28 ounce) can of cut tomatoes (diced tomatoes may be substituted)
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 (28 ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
1 large onion, diced
5 -7 slices of thick cut bacon
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/4 tablespoon butter or 1/4 tablespoon margarine
black pepper

Steps:

  • Drain water from beans and tomatoes.
  • Mix all ingredients (except bacon, and butter) in a large bowl.
