GREAT GRANDAD'S SUGAR COOKIES

Great Grandad's Sugar Cookies image

This recipe puffs up to make great Sugar cookies. My Great Grandfather was a baker, and this is the kind the bakery made. To make sour milk, add a teaspoon of vinegar to regular milk, and let stand for 5 minutes.

1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 pinch salt

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. Cool on baking sheets.

GREAT VALUE SUGAR COOKIE

Great Value Sugar Cookie image

This is the sugar cookie recipe found on Wal-Mart's brand, Great Value, sugar bag. Hands down - this is the BEST sugar cookie recipe I've ever tried! Rather than rolling out these cookies and using cookie cutters, I form the dough into a log, cover with cling wrap and freeze. To bake, just slice 1/4" thick! *Preparation time does not include chilling time *Number of servings depends upon size of cookie shapes
