GRAPES AND RAISINS IN CITRUS JUICE



Grapes and Raisins in Citrus Juice image

3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups white seedless grapes
1 cup dark raisins

Steps:

  • Mix the lemon juice and sugar in a bowl large enough to hold the fruit.
  • Wash the grapes and separate them from their stems. Add the grapes and the raisins to the mixture in the bowl, and mix well. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 4 hours before serving in wine glasses.

My mom made this often while I was growing up and I loved it. When I got married, I requested it to be served at the reception.

Yield about 2 quarts.

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups water
1 cup sugar
2 cups red grape juice, chilled
1/3 cup lemon juice, chilled
1/3 cup orange juice, chilled

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, heat water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Cool. Pour into a large pitcher or punch bowl; stir in the juices. Serve in chilled glasses.
