OLD FASHIONED FRENCH CANADIAN BAKED BEANS
This was a staple for me growing up in Quebec and brings back many happy memories. A perfect winter comfort food!!! I have tweaked an original recipe and wanted to share it with you. Great at breakfast with fried egg and sausage. A hearty meal with crusty bread and salad. It takes some time but well worth the wait -- I hope you enjoy them. Special note: some people prefer using salt pork when preparing baked beans - I use sliced bacon instead.

APPLE BAKED BEANS
Don't let the title or ingredients scare you away from this recipe. These are the greatest baked beans I have ever had. This recipe came from my oldest daughter's sister-in-law's father. Great for BBQs. I never have any leftovers. I hope you like them and leave your feedback.

GRANNY SMITH'S OLD-FASHIONED BAKED BEANS
Here's the recipe I was searching for. I'ts been years since I made it, but it's made exactly like the way Laura Ingalls described her mother doing it in the "Little House" books. It starts from scratch, and is made in a dutch oven. Can be made over a fire if your dutch oven has legs, and you watch it really close. This can also...

Stir the molasses, chili sauce, mustard, and worcestershire sauce into the hot water and pour over beans. (Add bay leaf if using. Remove before serving.)
