Grandma Rosie's Extra Smooth Spaghetti Sauce image

A mild sweet, super smooth pasta sauce that has become a family favorite! Makes a great sauce for meatballs. I recommend adding them and letting the entire pot simmer and meld. And remember, the bay leaf is lucky!

1 (46 fluid ounce) can tomato juice
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon dried oregano
¾ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried marjoram
1 bay leaf
¾ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine tomato juice, tomato paste, brown sugar, garlic, oregano, basil, marjoram, bay leaf, and salt in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cover. Simmer until thickened, about 45 minutes.
