Southern English Pea Salad is something my Grandmother made almost every Thanksgiving and Christmas to go along with the meal. It is very simple, but tasty.

Steps:
- It is important that you let the salad stand in the refrigerator for at least an hour or so, otherwise, it will not taste right as the onions are the only thing that flavors the dressing.
- Grandma always made it with Miracle Whip, but if you are one of those folks who despises the taste, you can substitute mayonnaise with 1-2 tablespoons of sugar added. You can also, add in 2 Tbsps Hormel real bacon bits for extra flavor.
- Mix all. Let stand for a minimum of two hours in the refrigerator.
- Sprinkle top with paprika for garnished look.
- Cook time is chill time in refrigerator.
GRANDMA'S PEPPERY PEA SALAD
This super simple salad turned me into a pea lover forever. The tart apples, crunchy celery, and tiny sweet peas in that peppery dressing is all it took! This dish is a regular favorite, but is also featured on the table at every family holiday.

Steps:
- 1. Add the peas, celery, apple, and pecans (if using) to a bowl. Mix.
- 2. Add the mayo and stir to combine. The mayo really is an visual measurement', but you want to put enough in that the mixture really does look 'wet' because the salad with dry a bit overnight. I usually end up with about 1/2 cup, but add slightly less than that and see how it looks.
- 3. Add your pepper to taste and stir one more time to combine. But, you really want to see the pepper in there. The kick from the pepper really brings this dish together. Let chill for a few hours or overnight and serve cold. Enjoy!
