PEPPER STEAK AND RICE
This is a recipe that all my children loved, and that my daughters still make.

Steps:
- Place rice and 2 cups water in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, and saute onion and green bell pepper until tender.
- Stir steak, garlic, and browning sauce into the onion and green bell pepper mixture. Season with paprika, seasoning salt, and black pepper. Cook and stir until steak is evenly browned. Mix in 1 1/2 cups water, and bring to a boil.
- In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup water. Stir into the boiling steak mixture until thickened. Serve over the cooked rice.

MOM-MOM'S PEPPER STEAK
This is a terrific family dinner. Tender pieces of steak are sauteed with juicy peppers in a great sauce. Serve with white rice or buttered mashed potatoes, and Italian bread for dipping. This is a really easy dinner. I hope your family will enjoy this as much as mine does.

Steps:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook and stir the green and red peppers until tender, about 10 minutes. Remove the peppers from the pan and set aside.
- Place the steak strips into the skillet with the grated onion, and cook and stir for about 10 minutes, until the steak is evenly browned and no longer pink inside. Return the cooked peppers to the skillet, and stir in tomatoes, water, and sugar. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the steak is tender and the sauce has thickened.

SIRLOIN STRIPS OVER RICE

- Sprinkle beef strips with salt and pepper. In a large nonstick skillet, brown beef in 1 teaspoon oil. Remove and keep warm. , In the same skillet, saute onions in remaining oil until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the tomatoes, broth, wine, bay leaf, basil and thyme. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. , Return beef to the pan; cook for 2-4 minutes or until tender. Discard bay leaf. Serve with rice. Freeze option: Freeze cooled beef mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally and adding a little broth or water if necessary.

- in a large skillet, brown meat in oil, using high heat.
- add onions.
- saute until tender crisp.
- blend soup, liquid from mushrooms and garlic salt.
- pour over steak.
- add mushrooms.
- reduce heat, cover and simmer for one hour or until steak is tender.
- serve over bed of fluffy rice.

GRANDMA DONNA'S ITALIAN STEAK OVER RICE
I have made this Italian steaks for 30 years, my family loves it and we never have leftovers. Just add a salad, and crusty bread and what a great meal.

Steps:
- Cut stake into strips, place in a skillet with one teaspoon oil, brown on all sides , then drain. Place the steak in a crock pot set on high.
- Cut up the onions, green pepper, and celery, and place on top of the steaks.
- Mix together the remaining ingredients, and pour over the steak and vegetables. With the crock pot set on high, cover and let cook for 4-6 hours.
- Make white rice according to packsge directions and pour steak mixture over rice and enjoy.
