BEST HOT SAUCE
If hot sauce is your thing, you will love, love, love this fresh tasty recipe. I first tried a version of this hot sauce in Cameroon, Africa. I couldn't get enough of it; no matter where you ate, there would be a small bowl of this divine sauce on the table, each unique to the person making it. Only recently have I actively searched out the recipe. I did not follow the recipe to a tee, but combined this recipe with another a close friend gave me. In the end, I can't argue the results!

2BLEU'S WET SAUCE FOR RIBS AND MORE
This is a wonderful condiment brushed on ribs or chicken or pork chops during grilling, or dress up a can of baked beans by adding 1/2 cup, and you can also serve it at the table in a squeeze bottle at room temperature. This is our own wet sauce and is great used with Recipe #320535. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 months which means you can make it in the spring and use it all summer long. Great for gift baskets too! Makes 1/2 gallon (64 oz).

- Pop peppers into the oven and broil on high until the top of the outside is black and blistered – mine usually take about 10-12 minutes.
- Gently tug on the stems – the tops will come right off. Then pinch the blistered skin and peel it away. If desired, de-seed them to reduce the heat of the final product. (I didn’t and my sauce wasn’t overly spicy, but I sometimes do if the peppers are particularly hot.)
- Add peppers, vinegar, lime juice, sweetener (rapadura, honey, or maple syrup), salt and four cloves of garlic to a food processor and puree until smooth.

9 WAYS TO USE THOSE SUMMER CHERRIES - CHOWHOUND
From greatist.com
Author David Watsky
- Smoked Duck and Cherry Pressed Sandwich. Duck makes a lovely pairing with cherries. You can do a compote (see the pork chop recipe below) or just add some sliced ripe cherries into a panini with smoked duck and let the good times roll.
- Smoked Cherry Hot Sauce. Okay, admit it, that grilled chicken sandwich or piece of white fish is starting to feel a little played out. What do you need?
- Pork Chops with Cherry Sauce. Alright, bust that grill back out and snag a few pork chops from the butcher while you’re at it. Fatty pork is always a nice partner with fruit and this cherry sauce will make good use of your extra stash.
- Spiral Hot Dog with Cherry Relish. We have a bit of an obsession with this one at the Chowhound offices. It’s wild, yes, but when you think about it long enough it’s not so crazy.
- Maraschino Cherries. A good homemade maraschino cherry can absolutely mean the difference between a good and great cocktail, sundae, or anything else that calls for one.
- Slushy Cherry Old Fashioned. I can’t think of something more crave-able on a hot summer afternoon than this bourbon and fresh cherry frozen slush. You don’t need much save for a few easy to come by ingredients and a good blender.
- Campfire Cherry Cobbler. Hopefully, this summer finds you by a campfire at least once. Camping is a true simple joy but it can be tough to come by good eats; that’s why we love this easy campfire cherry cobbler that requires very few things.
- Cherry Clafoutis. A perfect summer dessert, clafoutis is as fun to say as it is delicious to eat. If you do it right it’ll be light and puffy as a cloud with those tart cherries cutting through each slice.
- Matzo Brei with Roasted Cherries. Roasting cherries with fresh orange juice and zest, sugar, and vanilla results in a jammy topping that’s great on everything from ice cream to pancakes (or matzo brei).
