Golden Buttermilk Waffles image

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups buttermilk
1/3 cup canola oil
Optional: Sliced fresh strawberries, strawberry syrup and whipped cream

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs; add buttermilk and oil. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined., Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown. If desired, serve with sliced fresh strawberries, syrup and whipped cream.

1/2 cup oil
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon, optional

Steps:

  • Beat eggs with hand mixer or in food processor until light yellow.
  • Add remaining ingredients and beat until combined.
  • Pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Serve immediately.
  • Store extra batter in covered container in fridge for up to one week.

1 ½ cups warm milk
⅓ cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; set aside. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
  • Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp. Serve immediately.
