Beautiful Christmas Cookies.. .easy to make! If you can't find the edible glitter, red and green sugar looks very nice also.

Ingredients

1 pound butter, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons edible white glitter

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
In a large bowl, beat the butter and confectioners' sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Combine the flour and cornstarch; beat with the mixer for 5 to 10 minutes. The batter needs to be soft and fluffy.
Fit a cookie press with a star disc and fill with cookie dough. Press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with edible glitter.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven. They will not brown on top so peek at the bottom of a cookie after 20 minutes. Cool cookies on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight tin for up to two weeks.

Dump the cornstarch into the mixing bowl slowly so it doesn't blow everywhere. Add the shaving cream, a little at a time, working it in with your hands. The kids will love how it starts to feel cold when the ingredients combine. Keep adding a little more shaving cream at a time, until you've used the entire can. When it's done, it should feel dry when you touch it, it shouldn't stick to your hands and you'll be able to mold it together. When you're happy with the consistency, add the blue glitter (if desired) and mix until well combined.
Store your faux snow in an airtight container. I find that it does dry out pretty quickly compared to some of the other play materials we make like Moon Sand.
