- Gin and Tonic. When you want a classic gin and tonic, this is the recipe that gets it done. Take note of the ratios and technique. It’s simple, but a few things can be improved upon.
- Gin and Tonic, Barcelona Style. Spain is a gin and tonic swilling country. One of their most celebrated cities has its own angle on it too, involving a lemon twist, rosemary sprig, sea salt, caperberry, small, mild, aromatic olives, Plymouth gin, and Indian tonic water.
- Virgin Gin and Tonic. Making a nonalcoholic rendition of a cocktail that uses only two (or three, if you count the lime) ingredients actually takes a lot more ingredients.
- Glow-in-the-Dark Gin and Tonic Jelly. Did you know if you shine a black light on tonic water, it will glow in the dark? The quinine in it is sensitive to ultra-violet light.
- Spiced Gin and Tonic. A dry gin like Bluecoat or Beefeater complements the homemade spiced tonic water needed in this cocktail. You’ll infuse the tonic water with juniper berries, orange peel, Sichuan peppercorns, and cardamom pods for a real full-bodied spicy flavor.
- Bloody Strawberry Gin and Tonic. London Dry gin is just buttoned-up enough for half of a blood orange and one large strawberry, along with the tonic. Get our Bloody Strawberry Gin and Tonic recipe.
- A G&T with Juniper and Bay Leaf Syrup. Infuse your sugar syrup with juniper berries and bay leaves, which mimics the herbaceous and menthol taste of London dry gin.
- Tom Collins Cocktail. Admittedly, this has soda water instead of tonic so you don’t get that characteristic quinine flavor. It also uses a dash of superfine sugar and a lemon instead of a lime.
- G&T with Mint Syrup. Some gins already have a menthol taste, so it’s no surprise that mint syrup would be a great addition to the classic. Get our Mint Syrup recipe.
- Raspberry Rose Gin and Tonic. Fresh raspberries, rosewater, sugar, lime, and dried rose petals make this pretty (and pretty wonderful) cocktail. Get the recipe.

- In a glass measuring cup (or any microwave safe container with a spout), heat the lime juice, gin, and sugar in the microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. Stir to dissolve sugar. Heat again for 30 seconds and stir again. Repeat this process until all sugar is dissolved. Add tonic water and stir again.
- In a medium size bowl, stir together butter, lime zest, and powdered sugar. Add the gin and stir again until smooth. If you need more liquid, you may add more gin, some tonic water, milk, or tap water.

10 TONIC WATER COCKTAILS - THE SPRUCE EATS
From thespruceeats.com
- Gin and Tonic. The wonders of the gin and tonic are not to be underestimated. It's a simple drink, but the combination of its two ingredients accented with fresh lime juice is utterly fantastic.
- Vodka Tonic. Many people prefer vodka over gin, making the vodka tonic an equally popular choice for dinner, happy hour, and sunny days. Vodka's more neutral flavor allows the drink to show off a really great tonic water.
- Whiskey Tonic. Are dark spirits more your style? The whiskey tonic has you covered. This recipe prefers Irish whiskey's smoothness and switches to a lemon garnish because it's a better match than lime.
- Strawberry Gin and Tonic. The ultimate summer tonic recipe, few drinks are as satisfying as a strawberry gin and tonic. The recipe features homemade strawberry syrup, an excellent way to preserve the fruit's sweet taste when the berries are plentiful.
- Cherry Gin and Tonic. Rather than a syrup, use your trusted muddler to build a fruit-kissed tonic drink. It's a great alternative that relies on the fruit's natural sweetness to build a balanced cocktail.
- Autumn Spiced Tonic. Homemade liquor infusions are an easy way to give soda drinks extra flavor. In the autumn spiced tonic recipe, you'll start by infusing vodka with apple, pear, and cinnamon.
- White Port and Tonic. Liquor is not the only option for spiked tonic drinks. Fortified wines are an excellent pairing as well, and a great place to begin exploring their potential is with the white port and tonic.
- Vermouth Cassis. Many drinks that use another type of soda are perfect venues for a tonic substitution. Building on the fortified wine pairing, the vermouth cassis is one of the best options.
- Royal-Tea. The royal-tea recipe is a still drink that could use a bit of sparkle. Made with London dry gin, Earl Grey tea, lemon, and sugar, it's an iced alternative for afternoon tea.
- Campari and Soda. It may be too much for some people, but drinkers with a bitter-loving palate will find this option fascinating. The Campari and soda is a simple mixed drink that pairs the Italian bitter with soda water.
