INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS CHEESY MEATLOAF



Incredibly Delicious Cheesy Meatloaf image

After trying so many, this is the perfect meatloaf! It is very moist, tender, but not mushy and does not crumble when you slice it. The cheese adds a nice moistness and flavor and the steak sauce adds a nice kick. There won't be leftovers when you serve this with mashed potatoes!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup crackers or 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup shredded cheese, your choice
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons steak sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, cheese, salt, pepper, garlic and onion. In a small separate bowl, mix eggs, ketchup and steak sauce. Add to meat mixture. Form into a loaf and place in the middle of a 9x13 pan. Combine sauce ingredients and cover loaf. Bake in a 350 oven for one hour.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb round loaf of bread (i prefer sour dough for this but shepherds bread or french will do in a pinch)
1 lb swiss, moterey jack or any other good melting cheese
1/2 c melted butter
1/2 c green onions (or if you are adventurous use jalapenos)
2-3 tsp poppy seeds *optional
2 clove garlic (or garlic powder) *optional

Steps:

  • 1. Cut the bread lengthwise and crosswise without cutting through the bottom crust
  • 2. insert cheese between all the cuts
  • 3. combine butter, onions (or jalapenos), poppy seeds and garlic and drizzle all over the bread
  • 4. wrap in foil, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 15 minutes
  • 5. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted completely
