Steps:
- In two batches, grind cookies in a food processor until the mixture resembles garden soil. In a large bowl, beat milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes, then set aside.
- In another large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes. Fold in the pudding mixture and then fold in the whipped topping.
- Using a deep 3-quart straight-sided bowl or a clean unused garden pot, begin by layering 1/3 of the ground Oreos topped by 1/2 of the pudding mixture, more Oreos, remaining pudding mixture and finally the last of the Oreos. Decorate as desired with gummy worms and flowers to resemble a garden scene.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or overnight.

Steps:
- Place cookies in a large, resealable plastic ziptop bag and zip closed. Using a rolling pin or heavy object, coarsely crush the cookies. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry pudding mix and cold milk until combined well, 2 to 3 minutes. Refrigerate 5 to 10 minutes to thicken, then fold in the Cool Whip with a rubber spatula. Stir in 1 cup of the crushed Oreos, and a few gummy worms if using. Spread out mixture in an 11x7-inch (or equivalent) glass baking dish. Using your hands, spread the remaining cookie crumbs over the top. Gently push the strawberries down in rows in the Oreo "dirt". If using pebble candy, add some of them amongst the rows of strawberries. Garnish with mint leaves. Refrigerate until serving time. How-To Video: https://youtu.be/WIpkKkEK0WE
DIRT PIE
Mmmmm...a rich Oreo pie without the cream cheese. You can add gummy worms in as well, but I don't like the taste or the texture.

ORIGINAL NO-BAKE DIRT PIE WITH WORMS
This pie is so easy to make and is ALWAYS the first thing to go at pot lucks! Everyone loves this and kids and adults ask for me to make this for parties. You can substitute "light" ingredients, but it loses something with the "fat free" stuff.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place the tomatoes in a colander in the sink in 1 layer. Sprinkle with salt and allow to drain for 10 minutes.
- Use a paper towel to pat-dry the tomatoes and make sure most of the excess juice is out. (You don't want very wet tomatoes or your pie will turn out soggy).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season zucchini and squash with salt and pepper. Saute the squash in a single layer for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel
- Layer the zucchini, squash, tomato slices, and onion on the bottom of the pie shell. (Make sure pie shell is pre-baked, and completely cool, to avoid sogginess). Sprinkle basil on top.
- Combine the grated cheeses and mayonnaise together. Smooth cheese mixture over the top and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes.
- To serve, cut into slices and serve warm.

7 TIPS ON MAKING DIRT PIE ...

- Thoroughly Cream Together the Ingredients. Trying to speed up this dessert by lightly mixing the cream cheese, butter, and sugar together leaves a lot of chunks in the mix.
- Make the Layers Fairly Even. I’ve ended up with lots of leftover ‘dirt’ because I didn’t make the layers thick enough. I was worried about making the dessert too dry and slathered on the creamy layers, but forgot to compensate with the cookie mixture.
- Be Creative with the Decorations. The first few times I made this recipe, I stuck with the traditional design; flower pot with fake flowers in the center.
