Easy and Delicious Strawberry Frozen Yogurt image

Imagine the most delicious strawberry ice cream made from just 4 basic ingredients: Greek yogurt, strawberries, sugar, and a squeeze of lemon. This recipe may be made from yogurt, but it is as creamy as ice cream (and better for you so you can eat as much as you want!)

1 pound fresh strawberries
½ lemon, juiced
2 (7 ounce) containers Greek yogurt (such as Fage®)
¾ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Blend strawberries and lemon juice together in a blender until smooth; refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
  • Stir yogurt and sugar into strawberry mixture until well blended and smooth; pour mixture into ice cream machine's container.
  • Freeze according to manufacturer's directions for a soft-serve consistency.

12 small/medium strawberries
1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla, 230 g)

Steps:

  • Prep: Wash strawberries and pat them dry. Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.
  • Coat: Holding the strawberry by the green leaves, dip each berry into the yogurt a few times to evenly coat with yogurt, then set on the prepare plate. Freeze until solid, about 2 hours.
  • Optional Second Coat: For a thick, even layer of yogurt, repeat the process one more time, dipping each berry in yogurt again and freezing until solid.

vanilla yogurt (or plain with added vanilla and sugar or Greek)
strawberry

Steps:

  • Clean and trim the strawberries. You can use them halved or whole.
  • Either put the yogurt in the freezer for a while to thicken it, use Greek yogurt (it's thicker) or Strain the yogurt in cheesecloth for a while to release liquid and make it thicker.
  • Dip the strawberries in the yogurt.
  • Place on a wax paper, parchment or silpat lined sheed that fits in your freezer.
  • Freeze.
  • Package in an air-tight container for quick treats.
  • Serve with a toothpick.
  • Time does not include freezing.

2 cups pureed fresh strawberries
1 can (14 ounces) fat-free sweetened condensed milk
1 cup fat-free milk
3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Fill cylinder of ice cream freezer two-thirds full; freeze according to manufacturer's directions. (Refrigerate any remaining mixture until ready to freeze.) Transfer ice cream to freezer containers, allowing headspace for expansion. Freeze 2-4 hours or until firm. Repeat with any remaining ice cream mixture, Remove from the freezer 30-45 minutes before serving.
