SKILLET FRIED APPLES RECIPE
Warm skillet fried apples are perfect on a hot buttermilk biscuit for breakfast. Also an excellent side dish for many of your favorite meals. Quick and easy to prepare.

Steps:
- Wash the apples. Remove the cores. Slice, and set aside.
- Place a cast iron skillet over just below Medium heat on your stove top.
- When pan is hot, add the stick of butter.
- Add the granulated sugar.
- Add the brown sugar.
- Add the cinnamon.
- Add the nutmeg, if desired.
- Stir well until butter melts and sugars dissolve.
- If mixture is thick, thin it down with a small amount of water or apple juice.
- Add the sliced apples. Stir well to coat.
- Stir often and cook apples until tender.
- Serve warm.
- Enjoy!
SOUTHERN FRIED APPLES
I have a very basic recipe to add some sweetness to breakfast or any meal. Serve garnished with additional cinnamon if desired.

Steps:
- Heat 2 tablespoons margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add apple slices and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Cook the apples for 5 minutes, turning frequently with a spatula.
- Add bread squares and turn heat to medium low. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Place apple and bread slices on serving platter and top with remaining margarine.
STELLA'S WHITE BREAD APPLE PIE
I just had to share this recipe...I was invited to dinner this evening and was served Apple Pie made with sliced white bread for dessert. It was really good, I would never have believed it was bread as the crust!! It is something I would make for a family dessert in a pinch!! Try it, it's really different but good! I looked on 'Zaar but didn't see anything like it.

Steps:
- Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons of sugar and the 2 tablespoons of water into the bottom of a 13x9 baking dish. Top with the sliced apples. Cover the apples with the crustless bread, covering completely in a single layer.
- Combine the 1 1/2 cups sugar, cinnamon, beaten egg, flour and melted butter. Pour over the bread slices.
- Bake at 350* for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is browned.

- Melt butter in a large cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet. Add apples and 1/2 cup sugar; stir to mix well. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring frequently. , Add cinnamon and remaining sugar. Cook and stir over medium-high heat 5-10 minutes longer. If desired, serve with ice cream.

- Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place the sliced apples into a medium bowl. Drizzle the lemon juice over the apple slices and toss lightly to coat.
- When the butter is melted, add the apple slices to the pan. Saute until the apples begin to soften, about 5-8 minutes. You’ll notice a slight change in color from crisp white/green to a creamy white/yellow. If you're pressed for time, cover the skillet with a lid.
- Stir the sugar and cinnamon into the apple mixture. Add a dash of nutmeg if desired. Continue cooking until the sugar dissolves into the butter and forms a sauce. Removing the lid from the skillet will help thicken the sauce. (if you've opted to cover the pan with a lid.)
