CAMPFIRE BANANA BOATS DESSERT

Campfire Banana Boats Dessert image

Warm grilled bananas topped with gooey marshmallows and melty chocolate chips are a super easy and FUN dessert for summer BBQs, camping, and more!

Provided by Courtney

Categories     Dessert

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

Peanut butter
Biscoff
Cut up candy bars
Chopped nuts
Honey Grahams or Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Graham Crackers, for dipping
1 banana
Handful of semi sweet chocolate chips
Handful of mini marshmallows

Steps:

  • Gather your bananas. You can make just one or as many as your fire (or BBQ) will fit.
  • Slice the bananas about a ¼ inch deep down the middle. Use your fingers to pull the peel back slightly so there's some space between the peel and the banana.
  • Stuff the boats with your choice of toppings. I love a mix of milk and dark chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
  • Wrap. Place each banana on a square (approximately 12 inches) of aluminum foil topped with a slightly smaller square of parchment paper. Wrap the bananas up from the bottom to the top, crimping the top so there's a little space between the banana and the foil.
  • Cook. Place the bananas directly on warm coals that no longer have an active flame. Cook for about 5 minutes, then remove with tongs, and enjoy. The bananas can be eaten directly out of the peel, or scooped out into a bowl.

CAMPFIRE BANANA SPLITS

Campfire Banana Splits image

This was a recipe from my old Girl Scouting days. A very easy recipe for all ages that needs little adult supervision. Great for sleep-overs and backyard camping trips.

Time 18m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 3

6 large bananas, unpeeled, stems removed
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill for high heat.
  • Spray 4 sheets of aluminum foil, large enough to wrap bananas, with cooking spray.
  • Slice the peel of the banana from stem to bottom, while slicing the banana inside lengthwise. The bananas can be cut into slices instead if you like, (while still in the peel) for easier handling later.
  • Carefully open the banana just wide enough to place the chocolate chips and marshmallows inside the peel with the banana. Stuff with as much of the chocolate chips and marshmallows as desired.
  • Wrap the bananas with the aluminum foil and place on the grill or directly in the coals of a fire. Leave in long enough to melt the chips and the marshmallows, about 5 minutes. Unwrap bananas, open the peels wide, and eat with a spoon.
