Juicy Broiled Hamburgers image

Cooking burgers under the broiler is so easy, and they come out wonderfully juicy and flavorful.

1 lb. lean ground beef ((85/15))
1 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt ((not fine salt))
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 cup sauteed onions
4 oz smoked gouda (thinly sliced)

Steps:

  • Preheat your broiler on high. Position an oven rack directly (3-4 inches) below the heating element.
  • Sprinkle the Kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika on the meat. Work the spices gently and evenly into the meat.
  • Divide the seasoned meat into four equal 4-oz portions and gently shape them into four patties, 3.5 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
  • Arrange the patties in a cast-iron skillet. Push down on the center of each patty to create a dimple. This will help the burgers stay flat as they cook.
  • Broil the burgers to medium, about 3 minutes per side.
  • Turn the oven off, top each burger patty with sauteed onions and with cheese, and return the pan to the still-warm oven for just a few seconds, until the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

1 pound ground chuck
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 sesame hamburger buns
12 pickle slices
4 tablespoons ketchup
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 sliced white onion

Steps:

  • Season ground beef with salt and pepper and form into patties. Butter hamburger buns in and toast in a skillet until lightly browned, and set aside. Heat a grill to medium-high heat. Cook the burger for two to three minutes each side, while cooking add a dash of salt to the burger.
  • Build the burger by placing the meat on the bottom bun, then add 3 or 4 dill pickle slices, 3 or 4 onion ring slices, 2 to 3 tomato slices. Then squirt a small amount of ketchup onto the burger, add lettuce, and then spread mayonnaise onto the top bun, and place the top bun onto the burger.

Learn how to broil hamburgers for a juicy, delicious burger. Cooking hamburgers in the oven is an easy and quick way to make them any time of year, without a grill. Add cheese, your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

1 pound ground chuck ((or your favorite burger blend))
salt and pepper to taste
4 slices cheese
4 burger buns (lightly buttered and toasted)
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Condiments of your choice

Steps:

  • Heat oven to broil and set the oven rack to the upper-middle position.
  • Line a grill or sheet pan with foil.
  • Divide the meat into 4 (4 ouncportions. Very gently, and without overworking the meat, form each portion into 4 loose balls. Place one ball on a dessert plate or other flat surface and gently press it down to make a disc about ½-¾ inch thick (your personal choice). Now gently turn the disc around while slightly pressing an indentation around the edge (kind of like a moat right inside the burger's edge). This will keep the burger from developing a mound in the middle and your burger will remain flat while cooking. Place the burger on the prepared pan and repeat the process with the remaining portions of beef.
  • Season both sides of each burger generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, and place the burgers in the oven.
  • Broil 4 minutes or until the top has browned and beginning to char.
  • Flip the burgers over and broil until the center reads 155°F internally, about 3-4 minutes longer.
  • Top each burger with a slice of your favorite cheese, if desired, and cook just until the cheese melts.
  • Transfer the burgers to a cooling rack and tent with foil to allow time for the internal temperature to reach 160°F.
  • Serve the burgers on toasted buns and top with the condiments of your choice.
  • Enjoy!

your favorite seasons (opt), favorite cheese, topping and bun

Steps:

  • 1. Make your patties as thin as possible without them falling apart, I use a piece of foil, lay my patty on it and flatten it with my fingers or a rolling pin or the bottom of a pan.
  • 2. Use a med-high flame on your grill, let the grill get good and hot with the lid closed. Put your patties on, close the lid, after about 7ish minutes, flip your patty, cook another 7ish minutes. The fat from the chuck drips onto the fire making it flame up and cook. That's where all the flavor comes from. I never even season my patties anymore, just put them on plain. My family as well as myself are asthonished everytime I make these, taste just like BK.
