Number Of Ingredients 9

1-1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
2 bacon strips, diced
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup sliced sweet red pepper
1 small onion, cut into thin wedges
1/2 cup salted whole cashews
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • Place beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 4-6 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and immediately place beans in ice water. Drain and pat dry., In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels to drain., Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, honey and butter. Saute pepper and onion in drippings until tender. Add the beans, teriyaki mixture, bacon, cashews and lemon juice; heat through.

1/2 lb bacon
1 (8 ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
20 ounces fresh green beans or 20 ounces frozen green beans
1 cup white wine
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, cook beans in boiling salted water only until about half-cooked; drain beans and set aside.
  • Cut the bacon in small pieces and brown in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon and set aside.
  • Add onion, garlic and mushrooms to bacon fat and drippings in skillet; saute until tender-crisp.
  • In large mixing bowl, combine beans, bacon and sauteed vegetables with wine and cheese.
  • Place mixture in casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes.

2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon butter (melted)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 lbs fresh green beans, preferably thin ones, trimmed
2 slices bacon
1/4 cup yellow pepper, cut into strips (about 1/4 of a pepper)
1/4 cup red pepper, cut into strips (about 1/4 of a pepper)
1/2 cup thin sliced onion
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup whole cashews
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Teriyaki-Honey Sauce:.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the teriyaki suace, honey and melted butter.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Drop in the beans and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the beans are bright green.
  • Drain the beans in a colander, then plunge them into ice water.
  • Drain again and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook the bacon until very crisp.
  • Crumble and set aside.
  • Saute the peppers, onion and garlic in the hot bacon fat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the beans, cashews and bacon to the skillet and heat through.
  • Add the teriyaki-honey sauce and toss gently.
  • Add the lemon juice and toss again.
  • Enjoy.

1 tablespoon(s) butter
1 tablespoon(s) fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 pound(s) fresh green beans
2 slice(s) bacon
1/2 cup(s) red bell pepper cut into strips
1/2 cup(s) onion cut into wedges
1/2 cup(s) whole cashews

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, stir together the teriyaki sauce, honey and butter. Fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the lemon juice. Drop in the beans and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until beans are bright green. Drain the beans in a colander and then plunge them into the iced water. Drain again and set aside. In a skillet, cook the bacon until very crispy, crumble and set aside. Sauté the bell pepper and onion in the hot bacon fat for 2 minutes. Add the beans, cashews and bacon to the skillet. Add the teriyaki-honey sauce and toss gently.
