I got this recipe from a co-worker some years ago - it makes a nice large batch!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chopped walnuts
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Thoroughly cream sugars, margarine, oil, egg, milk and vanilla.
  • Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 8-12 minutes. (Cookies are light in color when done.)

2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups brown sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal (measure oatmeal and blend in blender to a fine powder)
24 ounces chocolate chips
1 teaspoon salt
18 ounces cadbury chocolate (grated)
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
2 teaspoons vanilla

Steps:

  • Cream the butter and both sugars.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda.
  • Add chocolate chips, Cadbury bar and nuts.
  • Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 375°.

  • Cream butter, shortening, and sugars together in an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat in egg, vanilla, and milk. Beat in salt and baking soda. Stir in flour and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop 1 tablespoon balls of dough (I use a small cookie scoop for this) and place onto cookie sheets. Press the dough lightly with the palm of your hand to flatten just a bit (about half the thickness of the ball). Bake for about 13 minutes, until the cookies are slightly browned. Remove from oven. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet before removing to rack to cool completely. They will get crunchier as they cool.
