Steps:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add a good amount of salt. Taste the water, it should taste salty, almost like sea/ocean water. Then add the spaghetti.
- Cook until al dente, not too hard, though (if you use a good quality pasta it won't get mushy).
- Use a pasta fork and remove the pasta from the water and place directly into two plates. Top with butter and mix until well-coated.

- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Stir in fettuccine, bring back to a boil, and cook pasta over medium heat until tender yet firm to the bite, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and return pasta to pot.
- Mix butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper into pasta until evenly combined.
