1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
½ cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Pour pie filling into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over apple pie filling and top with melted butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the top starts to turn brown, about 40 minutes. Cool cake 15 minutes before serving.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • . In a large bowl of a food processor fitted with blade attachment combine flour, brown sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Pulse until well combined. Add butter slowly, pulsing between additions, until pea-sized pieces form. Press 1/2 of the mixture in an ungreased 9-inch springform pan; set remaining mixture aside.
  • Place apples, Stevia In The Raw®, cornstarch and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a large bowl; stir to combine. Place apples in prepared springform pan. Evenly sprinkle the remaining mixture over apples.
  • Place springform pan on baking sheet with sides. Bake 60 to 70 minutes until top is golden. Remove from oven. Run knife around the edge of pan; let cake cool completely. Remove springform ring just before serving.

2 cups flour
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 pound (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces
5 pounds (about 12) tart apples, such as Granny Smith
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Using an electric mixer or a pastry cutter, cut in butter until the mixture forms pea-size pieces. Press 2/3 of the mixture onto bottom and 1 inch up the side of a 9-inch springform pan.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel apples, cut into thin slices, and place in a bowl. Pour off any accumulated liquid. Toss apple slices with remaining teaspoon cinnamon and lemon juice, and put them in the prepared pan, pressing down gently as you pack them in (they will mound above the edge of the pan). Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
  • Put the pan on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Run a knife around the edge of the pan, and let the cake cool in the pan to set. Serve at room temperature.

1 box yellow cake mix (I used Betty Crocker SuperMoist yellow cake mix)
1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup oil
3 eggs
6 apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
3 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter (cut into small pieces)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F degrees and spray a 13x9 inch pan with baking spray.
  • Prepare the yellow cake according to package instructions: add cake mix, 3 eggs, water and oil to the bowl of your mixer and mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.
  • In a medium bowl, toss together the apple mixture ingredients together and spread over the cake batter.
  • In a medium bowl stir together the flour, brown sugar and salt for the topping and cut in the butter using a fork or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
  • Sprinkle topping over the apples and cake batter, evenly.
  • Bake anywhere from 35 minutes to an hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before serving. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if preferred.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat an 8 x 11 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Dump the canned apples into the baking dish and spread out.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples, spread out with a spoon if there are clumps of caramel bits.
  • Next, dump the dry cake mix over the layers of apple filling and caramel. Spread the mix out to cover the wet ingredients.
  • Pour the melted butter over the cake mix layer, Distribute as evenly as you can, but don't fuss over it. The point of this recipe is it keep it super easy.
  • Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown at edges.

  • 1. To Make The Dough: Working with a stand mixer, preferably fitted with a paddle attachment, or with a hand mixer in a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add the eggs and continue to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes more. Reduce the mixer speed to low, add the baking powder and salt and mix just to combine. Add the lemon juice - the dough will probably curdle, but don't worry about it. Still working on low speed, slowly but steadily add 3 1/4 cups of the flour, mixing to incorporate it and scraping down the bowl as needed. The dough is meant to be soft, but if you think it looks more like a batter than a dough at this point, add the extra 1/4 cup flour. (The dough usually needs the extra flour.) When properly combined, the dough should almost clean the sides of the bowl.
  • 2. Turn the dough out onto a work surface, gather it into a ball and divide it in half. Shape each half into a rectangle. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or for up to 3 days. (The dough can be wrapped airtight and frozen for up to 2 months; defrost overnight in the refrigerator.)
  • 3. To Make The Apples: Peel and core the apples and cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick; cut the slices in half crosswise if you want. Toss the slices in a bowl with a little lemon juice - even with the juice, the apples may turn brown, but that's fine - and add the raisins. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together, sprinkle over the apples and stir to coat evenly. Taste an apple and add more sugar, cinnamon, and/or lemon juice if you like.
  • 4. Center a rack in the oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Generously butter a 9x12-inch baking pan (Pyrex is good) and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicone mat.
