2 teaspoons butter
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 orange, juiced
1 banana, split lengthwise
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons sliced almonds, toasted

Steps:

  • Heat butter, brown sugar, and orange juice in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the banana. Cook until the banana has softened and the sauce is slightly syrupy, flipping the banana occasionally, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve each slice of banana with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with the sauce and sprinkle with almond slices.

¼ cup butter
⅔ cup dark brown sugar
3 ½ tablespoons rum
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise and crosswise
¼ cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 pint vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon. When mixture begins to bubble, place bananas and walnuts in pan. Cook until bananas are hot, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve at once over vanilla ice cream.

1 tablespoon light butter, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
1 medium banana, under ripe and sliced
2 tablespoons Splenda brown sugar blend
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon rum extract

Steps:

  • Melt butter with brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a 10 inch skillet over low heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Add banana slices and continue cooking over low heat for about 1 minute per side while carefully spooning sauce over bananas as they are cooking.
  • Stir in the rum extract and then remove from heat.
  • Serve alone or with your favorite vanilla ice cream.

1 banana, quartered (cut it in half, then half again)
1/2 tsp. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. sugar free maple syrup

Steps:

  • *Makes 1 serving*
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (optional: you can use the microwave or just use your broiler).
  • Place the 4 quarters of the banana on a baking dish.
  • Take the brown sugar and literally spinkle it (I use my finger and just rub the surface so it comes off in individual crystals).
  • Then, drizzle the maple syrup over the bananas.
  • Place the dish into the oven, microwave, or broiler and set your timer: about 5-10 minutes in the oven, 3-5 minutes under the broiler, 30 seconds-1 minute in the microwave.
  • *Be sure to watch these as all kitchen appliances are different and vary in cooking times*
  • When the bananas are just how you like them (either crispy or slightly burnt or just soft enough), take them out (be careful, they're hot!) and either transfer to another bowl or eat it right out of the dish.
  • I love to eat mine with Turkey Hill No Sugar Added Vanilla Bean ice cream (only 70 calories per 1/2 cup!), Fat Free Cool Whip, or Nonfat Cottage Cheese- YUMMY!
