ELEANOR'S 7 LAYER COOKIES
Eleanor was my mother and these amazing treats were my favorite! I recently made a batch for a gathering and they are just as delicious as I remembered. And couldn't be easier to make. The amounts are approximate. Just use the bags of chips and walnuts from the bakery section of your grocery store.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. Melt the stick of butter in a 9x13 pan - I use a glass pyrex pan. Spread across the bottom and up the sides with a pastry brush.
- 3. Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs evenly across the bottom of the pan and let them absorb the butter.
- 4. Next evenly distribute the coconut, then the butterscotch chips, followed by the chocolate chips and finally the walnuts pieces.
- 5. Drizzle the whole can of condensed milk across the entire pan, then bake for 30 minutes or until the top is slightly browned and bubbling.
- 6. Allow to cool completely on a rack, then cut into squares.
7 LAYER BARS (THE REAL THING)
After reading so many recipes on here for 7 Layer Bars, I decided to post my tried and true recipe for these delicious things. They are chewy and crisp and yummy and gooey. You will not be disappointed with these. They are my Christmas baking tradition because they are so darn easy to make. No mixing bowl!

- Melt butter; pour into the bottom of a 9 by 12 baking pan.
- Pour graham cracker crumbs over butter; pat down.
- Add the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, pecans, and coconut in the order listed, sprinkling in an even layer.
- For the final layer, pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the entire top.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes until top is nice and and golden.
- Cool completely and cut into bars.
- ** Tip:" I go to my local Dollar Tree store and buy the Aluminum sheet pans they have there. They are not quite 9X12 but something like 11 ½ x 2inches deep. They work wonderfully.
