Easy flavor-packed Tuna Cakes (or tuna patties) are fast, affordable main dish. Canned tuna plus other simple delicious ingredient combine to be baked (no frying) for just 15 minutes!

1 egg
1 tablespoon parsley (finely chopped)
¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
½ teaspoon hot sauce
Zest from one lemon
3 5-ounce cans tuna packed in water (drained (regular tuna or albacore can be used))
2/3 cup saltine cracker crumbs (regular or gluten-free equivalent*)
Lemon wedges for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl stir together egg, parsley, yogurt, Dijon, Worcestershire, Old bay, hot sauce and lemon zest.
  • Add tuna and saltine cracker crumbs. Mix gently to combine.
  • Scoop out some tuna mixture using a 1/3 cup measuring cup. Press the mixture into the measuring cup lightly to form a patty. Turn the measuring cup over gently onto the baking sheet. Gently press any bits of the mixture that dislodge back onto the mound or gently make a patty.Repeat to make 6 patties.
  • Bake at 450°F for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. Allow to sit a few minutes after baking to rest before serving. Serve with lemon wedges.

Easy tuna cakes that takes 15 minutes and less than 10 ingredients to prepare and cook!

2 can tuna in water (170 g) (drained )
1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 egg (medium size)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
tartar sauce (for serving, optional)

Steps:

  • Remember to drain your tuna before mixing all your ingredients.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and mix until combined.
  • To form the tuna cakes, use a 1/4 measuring cup to get all of the cakes of the same size.
  • Heat a medium nonstick skillet, place your cakes and cook for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Try not to overcrowd your skillet, and cook them in batches of 3. Repeat until finished. Try not to move them too much to avoid them falling apart.
  • Serve immediately with some mayonnaise or tartar sauce, and Enjoy!

2 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
10 tablespoons Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
3 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
3 tablespoons diced onion
1 pinch ground black pepper
3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Beat eggs and lemon juice in a bowl; stir in Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs to make a paste. Fold in tuna and onion until well-mixed. Season with black pepper. Shape tuna mixture into eight 1-inch-thick patties.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat; fry patties until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.

1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the tuna, 1/3 cup bread crumbs, egg, onions, red pepper, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder and cayenne.
  • Divide mixture into eight portions; shape into 2-inch balls.
  • Roll balls in remaining bread crumbs.
  • Flatten to 1/2 inch thickness.
