TOMATO SPICE CAKE
This is from an old Campbell's Soup cookbook. I had this book for about 25 years. This is a great cake, great flavor, supper simple.

Steps:
- Mix only above ingredients, following directions on cake mix package.
- If desired you can fold in 1 cup walnuts, chopped.
- Bake (according to directions).
- Frost with your favorite white frosting.
TOMATO SOUP CAKE
Tomato soup...in cake? Yes! This old fashioned spice cake recipe has stood the test of time. This tomato soup cake is frosted with cream cheese frosting.

Steps:
- Spray a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray. Preheat the oven to 350º Fahrenheit.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with the beater blade, cream together the butter and the sugar.
- Add in the eggs and mix well.
- Add in the flour, baking soda, baking powder and spices. Mix well.
- Lastly, add in the soup, walnuts and raisins. Mix until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Pour the batter into the baking pan and bake for 28-30 minutes or until the center of the cake tests done.
- Allow the cake to cool on a wire rack before frosting.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese and vanilla (using a hand or stand mixer) until smooth.
- Add in the powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
- Use a rubber spatula to spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cake.
- Sprinkle with walnuts.
- Store any leftover cake in the refrigerator in a sealed container.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch cake pan and set aside.
- Whisk cake mix, tomato soup, milk, eggs. and cinnamon together in a bowl until well combined. Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 28 to 33 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Run a table knife around the edges to loosen. Invert carefully onto a serving plate or cooling rack. Let cool completely.

- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan
- Stir the flour, sugar, baking powder, allspice, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves in a large bowl
- Add the soup, shortening, eggs and water
- Beat with an electric mixer on low speed just until blended
- Increase the speed to high and beat for 4 minutes
- Pour the batter into the pan
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
- Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 20 minutes
