Easy Three-Ingredient Cubed Steak image

A simple and easy recipe, reminiscent of mom's home cooking. Requires only three ingredients aside from staples already in your pantry. This dish makes its own gravy, so serve it with rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal. Leftovers refrigerate and reheat well for lunches later in the week.

4 cube steaks
1 onion, sliced
1 (1 ounce) packet beef gravy mix (or Brown Gravy Mix)
flour
salt & pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Season both sides of cubed steaks to taste with salt and pepper and dust cubed steaks with a light coating of flour.
  • In a non-stick skillet sprayed with cooking spray, over medium-high heat, brown cubed steaks on both sides. Do not cook through.
  • Place cubed steaks in a glass baking dish (it will not hurt if they overlap a little bit) and top with sliced onion.
  • Mix the gravy mix with water, according to the package directions. Do not cook the gravy.
  • Pour the uncooked gravy over the cubed steaks and onions, cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F for one hour.

Steps:

  • Heat oil in skillet.
  • Brown cube steaks on both sides.
  • Pour soup over cube steaks. Cover skillet and simmer 30 minutes.
  • Serve with gravy spooned over meat.

2 -3 tablespoons salted butter
2 tablespoons minced onions (dried)
3 -4 pieces cube steaks
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons paprika
1 tablespoon steak grill seasoning
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Melt butter in skillet, add minced onions and cook 1-2 minutes.
  • Mix flour, paprika, & grill seasoning together and place on a plate.
  • Season steak with salt and pepper then dredge through flour mixture making sure not to coat the meat too heavily
  • Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side depending on size of meat. Serve immediately.

4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup all-purpose flour
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

Steps:

  • Season the cube steaks on both sides with salt and pepper. Pour the flour onto a shallow plate and press the steaks into the flour; shake off the excess flour. Heat the oil in a large skillet with lid over medium-high heat. Place the steaks into the hot oil, and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
  • Pour water into the skillet to almost cover the steaks. Stir the beef bouillon and salt to taste into the water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until very tender, about 2 hours.
