Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Drain 1 can of peaches; reserve the syrup from the other. Place the butter in a 9- by 12-inch ovenproof baking dish. Heat the butter on the stove or in the oven until it's melted. In a medium bowl, mix the flour and sugar. Stir in the milk and the reserved syrup. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Arrange the peaches over the batter. Bake for 1 hour. The cobbler is done when the batter rises around the peaches and the crust is thick and golden brown. Serve warm with fresh whipped cream
- Chill a large metal mixing bowl and the wire beater attachment in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Pour the chilled cream and sugar into the cold mixing bowl and beat until it forms soft peaks, about 5 minutes. The mixture should hold its shape when dropped from a spoon. Don't overbeat or you'll have sweetened butter!
EASY PEACH COBBLER RECIPE WITH BISCUIT TOP
Spiced juicy peaches topped with a sweet biscuit topping. Peaches are the star here. The topping will not cover all the peaches. Instead it floats on top, between the peaches and their thickened juices. (If you prefer the top to be completely covered, simply double the topping recipe below). We do take the time to peel the peaches for this - we prefer it this way. If you're short on time, skip it. The cobbler will still taste great.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter or oil a 9-inch square baking dish (or 2-quart dish).
- Toss sliced peaches with berries (optional), lemon juice, sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and the salt. Pour into baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Whisk flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder and the salt together. Using a pastry blender or your fingers, cut butter into the flour until crumbly. Pour in milk. Stir with a fork until a soft dough forms. Dot tablespoon-sized dollops of biscuit dough over pre-baked peaches, leaving some space between each dollop. (As the cobbler bakes, the topping will spread out a little).
- Combine the remaining tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon for topping. Sprinkle over biscuit dollops.
- Bake the cobbler 40 to 50 minutes or until juices are bubbling and topping is golden brown. Cool 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Steps:
- Discard 1/2 of the juice from the peaches and pour the rest into a saucepan. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and sugar. Empty the cake mix on top of the peaches in an even layer. Place the margarine on top of the cake mix in the center.
- Cover sauce pan with a lid and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Once you see steam escaping the saucepan, reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Do not lift the lid during this time! Remove from heat and allow to stand with the lid on for 15 minutes before serving. The cake mix should look like dumplings.

- Microwave. The microwave method makes a single-sized portion in a coffee mug. You mix a half-cup of your favorite fruit with some sugar and make a small quantity of biscuit topping to dollop on top.
- Barbecue. Slower but suitable for larger amounts, you can cook a cobbler on the barbecue in a cast iron frying pan or a disposable aluminum cake pan (please don't dispose of it, keep it for the next cobbler).
- Slow cooker. The slow cooker may not be your first tool of choice when planning dessert, but this might change your thinking. Mix your fruit with sugar and spices and pour into the bottom of the pot.
- Stove top. You can even make a great cobbler on the stove, as long as you have a tight-fitting lid. Bring the fruit mixture to a gentle simmer, then add dollops of dough that will cook through in about 25 minutes at low heat.
- In a campfire. Yes, that actually says "in" a campfire. Using a cast iron skillet or a Dutch oven with a tight-fitting lid, you pour your fruit filling in the bottom, top with dough, and nestle in the coals.
