- In a small bowl, combine the salt and spices; set aside. In a large heavy skillet, melt butter. Add walnuts and pecans; cook over medium heat until nuts are toasted, about 4 minutes., Sprinkle with spice mixture. Add the brown sugar, water, Worcestershire and hot sauce. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is melted. Spread on foil to cool. Store in an airtight container.

EASY SPICED CARAMEL NUTS

Steps:
- 1. Put butter in a microwave safe mixing bowl. Microwave uncovered, 30-60 seconds or until melted.
- 2. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla, spice, and salt, to combine. Add nuts, and mix well.
- 3. Microwave, uncovered, 4-5 min. or until golden brown, and mixture appears glossy, stirring every 30 seconds.
- 4. Spread in a single layer onto Silpat, baking sheet, or waxed paper. Cool completely. Store airtight, up to a week.
- 5. *pecan halves, walnut halves, whole almonds, or whole cashews recommended

- In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites and water until foamy. Add the almonds, pecans and cashews; stir gently to coat. Combine the brown sugar, pie spice and pepper; add to nut mixture and stir gently to coat.
- Spread into a greased 15"x10"x1" baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool. Store in airtight container.
