FIVE INGREDIENT EASY VEGAN PANCAKES



Five Ingredient Easy Vegan Pancakes image

These pancakes require only five ingredients, super easy to make, and require very little time. Oil-free, dairy-free and low-fat.

1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. organic cane sugar (brown sugar works well)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat or slightly below.
  • Place all dry ingredients into mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
  • Add wet ingredients and whisk until batter is smooth. The batter should be a little runnier than what you are used to so play around with the consistency just a bit. It's what makes these pancakes cook, brown, and taste so good.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into the center of the pan. Cook until bubbles appear and begin to break, usually about a minute. Flip pancake and cook for another 30-45 seconds.
  • Keep going until you run out of batter.

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups soymilk or 2 1/2 cups water
1 dash cinnamon (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, lightly mix all ingredients until just combined.
  • Overmixing will make the pancakes tough.
  • Leave mixture on the counter to rest for 3-5 minutes and then fold it onto itself two or three times, lightly to make sure that the batter is fairly well incorporated.
  • Cook on a greased skillet or griddle over medium to medium high heat until golden.
  • If there are large lumps, carefully break them apart with the spatula while the pancakes are cooking.
  • Serve immediately.

1 cup soy milk
⅓ cup vegetable oil
½ teaspoon white vinegar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine soy milk, oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Let sit until milk starts to curdle, about 5 minutes.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the soy milk mixture. Whisk together until smooth.
  • Heat a greased frying pan over medium heat. Fry pancakes until edges are brown and bubbles form in the center, 3 to 4 minutes. Flip and cook about 3 minutes more.
