  • Preheat the oven and cook the oven chips as per the packet instructions. I always get far better results if I use a mesh or crisper tray for cooking oven chips.
  • Melt the butter over a low heat in a large frying pan. Add the garlic and cook slowly to release all the flavours. Garlic can burn easily if cooked at too high a temperature, so keep the heat low.
  • Once the oven chips are cooked and golden brown, add them to the butter and stir to coat the chip evenly in the garlic butter.

2019-01-15 Ingredients for the Homemade Garlic Fries: 1. Russet Potatoes – they are the gold standard when it comes to making fries. They all should be the same size (medium to large). 2. Garlic – You can use fresh garlic or garlic powder or even garlic truffle oil (we used a mix of the last two).. 3. Cilantro – This brings out that garlic flavor and gives a distinctive taste to the fries.

  • Prepare the fries according to the package’s directions using either an air fryer or the oven until very crisp. That may require cooking them longer than indicated.
  • Meanwhile, combine the garlic and oil in a small pan. Sprinkle with salt, then turn the stove to medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the garlic is translucent and tender and the oil is foaming all around and over it, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  • When the fries are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Use a spoon to scoop the garlic out of the pan and onto the fries. Leave behind most of the oil; whatever ends up in the spoon naturally is fine. Sprinkle with salt and toss well until the fries are evenly coated. Top with the parsley and eat hot.
