Provided by Trish - Mom On Timeout

Number Of Ingredients 6

17.3 ounces frozen puff pastry (1 box, 2 sheets)
6 ounces cream cheese
⅓ cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (or 3 tablespoons of bourbon)
21 ounces cherry pie filling
powdered sugar for dusting on top

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Lay out one roll of puff pastry and cut it in half and then in half again. Making 4 even squares.
  • Leaving a ½ centimeter edge, start ½ centimeter in from the corner and cut parallel to one side not quite to the middle. Start from where you cut at the corner and make an L going down the other side but not all the way to the middle. Do this on each corner. (see photo for example)
  • Repeat on all 4 squares.
  • Mix cream cheese, sugar and Bourbon in a bowl. Put one scant teaspoon in the middle of each corner of the pastry.
  • Place one cherry and small amount of filling on each cream cheese corner.
  • Dip finger in water and dampen each corner to help them stick.
  • Fold each cut corner piece into the middle making sure to press slightly so it will hold. Put one cherry in the middle.
  • Repeat with second roll of pastry.
  • Bake for 12 min.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

EASY CHERRY CREAM CHEESE DANISH

Easy Cherry Cream Cheese Danish image

Use flaky biscuit dough to make these simple & delicious cherry cream cheese danishes as a treat or brunch recipe!

Provided by Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Categories     Air Fryer

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 package flaky biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands)
1/4 cup sugar
8 oz bar of cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon almond extract (you can also substitute vanilla extract)
21 oz. can of cherry pie filling
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter, softened
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together cream cheese, almond extract, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer and set aside.
  • Separate each biscuit in half so there will be 16 total slices. I started doing this with a bread knife but actually found it easier to find the center and pull each biscuit apart using my hands. Place the biscuits on a large baking sheet lined with a nonstick baking mat or parchment paper.
  • Use a small glass or the bottom of a 1/4 cup measuring cup dipped in sugar and press down to indent the middle of each biscuit.
  • Spread about a teaspoon of cream cheese on each biscuit and then add pie filling. Add about a teaspoon of cherries or about three cherries worth to the top.
  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 12-14 minutes, until lightly browned and cooked.
  • While the biscuits are baking, whisk together the glaze ingredients in a small dish. If the mixture is too thick, add a bit more milk until you get the consistency to drizzle.
  • Take them out of the oven, let cool, and drizzle your icing over each roll. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Everyone's favorite at the office!

Provided by Michele Wallace

Categories     Fruit Desserts

Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c butter, softened
1/2 c crisco
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
4 eggs
3 c flour
1 can(s) cherry pie filling
GLAZE
2 c confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp butter, softened
1 Tbsp milk

Steps:

  • 1. Lightly grease a jelly roll pan. Blend the following ingredients with a mixer: sugar, butter, shortening, baking powder, vanilla, almond extract and eggs. If you aren't in the habit of keeping almond extract around, just replace it with vanilla. If a little vanilla is good, more is better! Blend on low, then turn up the mixer to high for 3 minutes.
  • 2. Add the flour and blend by hand. Spread 2/3 of the batter in the jelly roll pan. Spread the pie filling over the batter and then, drop the remaining batter by spoonfuls onto the pie filling.
  • 3. Bake for 35-40 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Don't let it brown too much! While the cake is still slightly warm, drizzle with glaze.
  • 4. Directions for Glaze
  • 5. 1 Mix the confectioners' sugar, butter, and vanilla together.
  • 6. 2 Adding half the milk (or orange juice) to start with, stir in to make a thick glaze, adding just a drop at a time more until you get a nice thick glaze.
  • 7. 3 Spread or pour immediately over warm Danish.
