Easy Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Galette image

Here's an easy, Fall dessert that will get everyone's attention, guaranteed! Easy Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Galette is amazing and super yummy! It's super delicious puff pastry with caramel and tender apples inside. We added some salted caramel sauce and ice cream on top for a real treat while it was still warm!!

Number Of Ingredients 13

½ lb frozen butter puff pastry (thawed)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp roasted cinnamon (or regular cinnamon)
2-3 large apples (peeled and thinly sliced, firm apple like Granny Smiths or Galas)
1/3 cup pecans (chopped)
1 egg
1 tsp granulated sugar
Caramel sauce
Additional pecans (chopped)
Ice cream (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 375° F.
  • Line cookie sheet with baking parchment paper.
  • Roll puff pastry out into a 10" square and put on cookie sheet.
  • Add 1 Tbsp sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar, lemon juice, flour, chopped pecans and cinnamon to the apple slices and mix gently.
  • Pile the apple filling in the center of the puff pastry leaving 2" around the edge free.
  • Pull up the outside edge of the pastry, over the outer edge of the apples, leaving the center part uncovered, folding the pastry as needed and pinching together gatherings of pastry.
  • Beat the egg. Brush it on the pastry. Sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes, until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden.
  • Serve warm or cold. Serves 4-6.
  • Add drizzles of caramel over the top, a scoop of ice cream, and more chopped pecans to your hearts desire.

1 cup melted butter ((2 sticks))

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Spread both cans of apple pie filling onto the bottom of your prepared dish.
  • Sprinkle about half of the bag of caramel bits evenly over the top of the pie filling.
  • Evenly distribute the dry cake mix over top.
  • Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix covering as much of it as you can.
  • Bake uncovered in the center rack for 30-40 minutes or until the buttery cake mix turns a deep golden brown.
  • Allow it to cool for about 5 minutes and then serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Steps:

  • Remove stems and thoroughly wash and dry apples; insert pop sticks into tops. Line a baking sheet with parchment and grease the parchment; set aside., Place caramels and water in a small saucepan; cook and stir over medium-low heat 3-5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Dip each apple in caramel mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Place on prepared pan. Refrigerate until set.

1 tablespoon butter
⅓ cup brown sugar (lightly packed) ((60 grams))
1 tablespoon water
2 large apples (peel, cored and small cubed)
½-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a medium size pot melt the butter, then add the water, sugar and chopped peeled apples.
  • Stir and cook for about 3 minutes over medium/high heat just until the sugar has melted, then lower the heat to medium/low and continue cooking and stirring often for about 8-10 minutes, add the cinnamon in the last couple of minutes. The apples should be tender and the sauce a golden brown colour.
  • Move to a clean glass jar, let cool or use warm. Once it is cool it should be refrigerated, the longer it sits the thicker the sauce will become. Enjoy!

2 honey crisp apples
1 bag caramel bits (for melting)
1 cup honey roasted peanuts; chopped
lollipop sticks

Steps:

  • Wash and slice the apples width wise just thick enough to put a lollipop stick in. Do this for both apples.
  • Melt the caramel bits per the directions on the bag. I did thi via the microwave version as it takes just minutes.
  • Place the lollipop sticks in the apples. Dip into the caramel and set aside.
  • Chop peanuts and sprinkle the nuts over the caramel apples while caramel is still wet. Serve!

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the apples then press a lollipop stick firmly into the top of each apple. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
  • Unwrap the caramels then place them in a medium saucepan set over medium-low heat. Add the heavy cream and cook the caramels, stirring occasionally, until they melt and the mixture is a smooth consistency. Reduce the heat to low.
  • Dip each of the apples into the caramel mixture, shaking off any excess and scraping any caramel off the bottoms of the apples.
