SIMPLE BAKED POTATO
This recipe for baked potatoes is delicious with steak, meatloaf, or by itself. I never was fan of the potato's skin until I began making this recipe! These potatoes taste amazing loaded with cheese, sour cream, and/or chives! If you want to get fancy, use this recipe as a base recipe for one of the many potato skin, whipped baked potato, or other more-to-it recipes on here.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high until melted, 20 to 30 seconds. Stir in olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Use a fork to poke about 5 holes into each potato. Place each potato on a sheet of aluminum foil about 6 inches wide. Brush butter mixture over potatoes, making sure to evenly coat each one. Wrap up completely in foil. Poke 5 more holes into the wrapped potatoes.
- Bake potatoes in the center of the preheated oven until easily pierced with a fork, about 1 hour. Spread leftover butter mixture over potatoes after cutting them open.

EASY "BAKED POTATOES" (CROCKPOT)
If you don't want to make individual, baked potatoes, this comes out tasting just like a baked potato and will feed a crowd of people. I don't care for bacon bits so I use the bacon ranch dip mix. You can always use bacon bits if you prefer.

- 1. Scrub the potatoes and slice them in 1/4 inch slices. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and dip mix; combine well.
- 2. Put the cubed butter over the bottom of the crockpot. Begin by layering items in this order: 1/4 of the cubed butter, 1/4 of the potatoes, a little salt and pepper, 1/4 of the sour cream mixture and 1/4 of the cheddar cheese; repeat the layers , ending with a final layer of cheddar cheese.
- 3. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until potatoes are tender.
- 4. Serve with a garnish of chopped chives or chopped green onions.
EASY CROCK POT BAKED POTATOES

- Prick each potato with a fork.
- Wrap each potato in a piece of aluminum foil with a slice of onion, butter, salt and pepper. Tightly roll the each potato up in the aluminum foil, tucking the edges as you go.
- Set aside and repeat with the remaining potatoes.
- Layer the potatoes in the bottom of your crock pot. You can stack them if need be. Large baking potatoes will fit in a 4 quart crock pot like I've used.
- Pour a 1/4 cup water into the bottom of the crock pot.
- Cook potatoes on high for 3-4 hours.
- Rotate the potatoes half way through the cooking if you have stacked them. For a single layer turn the potatoes at the half way mark.
- Top with your favorite toppings.

- Scrub your potatoes really well, removing any dirt, digging it out of any crevices ifnecessary. Dry well with some paper towels.
- Pierce the potatoes all over with a fork, about 10 times per potato, then rub well with olive oil, coating each one completely. Generously season each potato with salt and black pepper.
- Make little balls of foil and place them into the bottom of the crock pot creating a trivet of sorts. Pace the potatoes on top of the balls of foil. Cover the crock pot and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. (Low 8 to 10 hours.)
- The cook time depends on the size of your potatoes. You will know they are done when they can be pierced easily with a fork or toothpick and yield somewhat when lightly pressed with your fingers. If they are still hard in the centres, cook for a while longer.
