Caramel bars that are soft, chewy, and crunchy at the same time! Inspired by Max's restaurant, it's like having the same thing but with almond flakes instead of ground peanuts. Great for dessert, snack or pack it for kids to enjoy at school.

SUPER FAST, DELICIOUS, EASY, AND OOEY GOOEY CARAMEL CORN
This caramel corn whips up really fast and is the perfect consistency and taste. I received it from some good friends of my parents. It always goes over well when a bunch of friends or family get together. Even though its easy, my husband requests it often. We like light corn syrup, but if you prefer a stronger flavor, use dark.

- Prepare 13x9 pan with liner and non-stick spray. Again, I used foil but it wasn't my favorite. You could also use wax or parchment paper.
- To make the caramel, add condensed milk, milk, butter and brown sugar to a large saucepan on medium heat. YOU MUST STIR THE ENTIRE TIME. Once combined, increase heat slightly and boil for 5 minutes. Be careful, it's really hot and bubbly at this point but you do have to keep stirring or it will burn (you can see in my photos a few burnt pieces. These were kind of unavoidable. If you get them, don't worry, you can't tell at all in the end ?).
- Pour about ⅓ of the caramel over crackers in pan. Add another layer of crackers and cover with another ⅓ of the caramel. Repeat one more time so you have 3 layers of crackers and caramel.

- Add brown sugar, butter and water to a heavy based saucepan over medium heat. Stir it constantly until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the cream, liqueur and salt and stir in. Bring it back to a boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring often, until you see it has thickened.
- While the caramel is cooking, heat a glass preserving jar in the microwave for 1 minute, just so that it's not cold, to prevent it cracking when you pour the caramel sauce in.
