Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Whisk together the soup, broth, rice, garlic powder, dried chives, and onion powder. Transfer to the prepared dish.
- Pat the pork chops dry; place on top of the rice. Sprinkle onion soup mix over the pork chops, to taste. If you don't like a strong onion flavor or if you don't want the chops too salty, use just a portion of the seasoning (not the whole packet).
- Cover dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Check the pork chops at this point. If they are done (and have reached an internal temperature of 145°F), remove them from the dish, cover with foil, and set aside to rest. Give the rice a stir. The rice will not be tender yet, so cover the dish again and return to the oven for about 25-30 more minutes, or just until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve with the pork chops. Garnish with herbs, if desired.

EASY OVEN BAKED BEANS AND PORK CHOPS
This is an easy but really tasty pork chop dish --- purchase the thicker size pork chops or you may use 2-3 larger pork steaks, the thinner chops tend to fall apart when baked as they bake too fast, if desired you can top with shredded cheddar cheese the last 15 minutes of baking, also chopped fresh garlic may be added also to the bean mixture -- this may also be cooked in a crockpot, just brown the chops firstly in a skillet.

PORK CHOPS & SMOTHERED CABBAGE
I liked cooked cabbage just about any way you make it, but this is my all time favorite way to prepare it. My grandmother introduced this to me as a child but she made it with pig tails instead of pork chops. When I married and wanted to make this, I could not bring myself to make it with pig tails, so I substituted pork chops...

Steps:
- 1. In a large, deep skillet or dutch oven heat cooking oil. Brown seasoned pork chops in cooking oil until light brown. They do not have to be completely cooked as they will continue to cook in the cabbage. Stir in onions and saute until tender.
- 2. Add chopped cabbage and stir well. Add 1 tablespoon of Salt and Pepper (or to taste). If you like spicy food you may want to add a little red pepper.
- 3. Stir mixture well and pour in 12 oz. of water. Cook on medium low heat until cabbage is very tender, about 35 to 45 minutes. If you cook it on high heat, the cabbage will shrink more. Stir several times during this time. If cabbage tends to stick, add a little more water.
- 4. You can serve this as a side dish or serve over rice (like us Cajun's do) as a main dish.

Steps:
- Gather the ingredients.
- Season the pork with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the pork chops in the oil, turning to brown all sides. This is key since the cabbage will get its color and flavor from the caramelization of the pork. Work in batches if needed.
- After the pork is sufficiently brown on all sides, core a head of green cabbage and cut it into 8 wedges.
- Lower heat to medium-low to low. Add cabbage and a little more salt, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
- Continue simmering, stirring frequently, until the pork is falling apart and cabbage is brown and totally wilted.
- Serve with bread and homemade applesauce .

- Heat olive oil in a deep 2-quart skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides and place in the skillet.
- Brown pork on both sides (about 5-7 minutes per side). You want nice color on the chops for flavor, but you do not need to cook them all of the way through (they will continue cooking in the pot later). Remove pork from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- Reduce heat to low. Arrange potatoes in the bottom of the skillet and place remaining vegetables on top. Season vegetables with salt and pepper, to taste. Add browned pork chops on top.
