Ingredients

4-6 green olives , pitted, plus 25ml of the brine
ice
150ml London dry gin
25ml dry vermouth , we used Noilly Prat

Steps:

Put two martini glasses in the fridge to chill. Thread the olives onto two cocktail sticks and set aside.
Fill a jug or mixing glass with the ice, then pour in the gin, vermouth and olive brine. Stir until the outside of the jug feels cold. Taste to make sure that it's icy cold and that you're happy with the dilution.
Strain the mix into the chilled glasses and garnish with the olive skewers.

1/2 cup Cointreau liqueur or 1/2 cup Grand Marnier
2 1/2 cups orange juice

Steps:

Combine in a pitcher and serve over ice or shake with ice to serve chilled.

About 4 tablespoons gorgonzola dolce or other creamy, mild blue cheese
12 large pitted green olives plus 2 ounces brine from the olives
8 ounces vodka
2 ounces dry vermouth

Steps:

Form the blue cheese into 12 narrow tube shapes and stuff them into the pitted olives. Skewer 3 olives on each of 4 cocktail picks.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the vodka, vermouth and olive brine. Shake vigorously, then strain the cocktail into 4 martini glasses. Garnish with the olives and serve immediately.

Holding a large (preferably 1") cube of ice in the palm of your hand, use the back of a stirring spoon to crack it into large pieces; place in a mixing glass. Repeat with enough ice to fill glass. Add vodka, Scotch, and Pernod and, using a bar spoon, rapidly stir 50 times in a circular motion (the outside of the shaker will become very cold and frosty).
Strain martini through a Hawthorne strainer (or a large slotted spoon) into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. Strain any excess cocktail into a sidecar set over ice (or a small glass in a bowl of ice).
Using a small knife, remove a 1" piece of peel from lemon; it should be stiff enough to provide some resistance (a little white pith is okay). Twist peel over drink to express oils, then rub around rim of glass. Float peel, yellow side up, in martini.
