I believe in loving your food. Filling it to the brim with flavor. And for me, that meant mastering an exquisitely spicy homemade taco seasoning recipe. So that's what I'll share with you today.

Steps:
- Stir all ingredients until well blended.
- Store in a tightly closed glass container (a mason jar is always a fine choice).
- Use 1-2 tablespoons of the spice mix per pound of ground meat.
- Brown meat, add 1/4 cup of water or vegetable juice, then add 1-2 tablespoons of taco seasoning mix.
- Simmer for 4-5 minutes until thickened. Stir often.
- Serve with cheese and veggies in taco shells, or sprinkle over salad with avocado and cheese for a healthy dinner.

HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING MIX
Much lower salt than pre-made. Salt can be omitted. Great with half ground buffalo and half ground turkey breast or whatever you prefer. Buy bulk spices and you can make 5-plus batches for under $1.00!! Increasing black pepper and adding optional ingredients will increase heat. Using mild or regular chili powder and omitting optional ingredients will reduce heat. To keep salt content low make sure chili powder does not contain salt.

- Look in your spice cabinet and search for all these spices. This is what take so long to make this. I usually quadruple this recipe to have some on hand to use in other dishes besides tacos.
- Measure taco seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and mix thoroughly and store in an air tight container. See the Turmeric container in the picture, I use these for my homemade seasonings.
- Use a 1/4 cup to flavor one pound of ground beef. Use only 3 tablespoons if you are omitting dried onions and garlic and using fresh.
