Deviled Ham Spread image

Very hammy, nicely spicy flavors amplified with a balance of savory ingredients. Garnish with pickled red peppers and chives. Serve with rye crisps for a great party snack that's sure to wow your guests.

1 ½ pounds smoked ham, cubed
¼ cup diced onion
¼ cup chopped celery, including some leaves
½ cup shredded hot pepper Cheddar cheese
¼ cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons sriracha sauce, or more to taste
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¾ cup mayonnaise, divided, or to taste
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Combine ham, onion, and celery in a food processor. Pulse on and off until very finely ground, about 1 minute. Transfer mixture into a large bowl. Add Cheddar cheese and mustard. Drizzle in sriracha sauce, sprinkle cayenne pepper on top, and add Worcestershire sauce. Finish off with 2/3 cup mayonnaise and season with salt.
  • Mix together thoroughly with a spatula until smooth and spreadable. Taste; add remaining mayonnaise if too dry and crumbly. Cover the top with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator until flavors meld, at least 2 hours. Transfer ham spread to a serving bowl.

2 oz Kraft 2% Cheese (Cheddar or Swiss)
2 celery ribs, coarsely chopped
2 cups ham cubes
1/3 cup light mayonnaise
1 1/2 Tbsp prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Shred cheese in food processor and set aside. Use the chopping blade in the food processor to finely mince the celery, using pulse. Set aside. Finely mince the ham, using pulses. Add the cheese and pulse once or twice to mix.
  • Add ham, cheese and celery to mixing bowl. Mix together the mayo and mustard, stir into the ham mixture and mix well.
  • Spread on bread for sandwiches or serve with assorted crackers.

I searched for a recipe for this on this site and couldn't find one, so I winged it and it turned out very nicely. I had to make a second batch to take to the New Year's Eve party because the first batch disappeared. A great way to use leftover ham from holiday dinner to make a great spread for hearty crackers or rye toast points. Also good as a sandwich.

1 ½ cups cubed cooked ham
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
5 drops hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
1 pinch caraway seeds, or to taste
¼ cup finely chopped onion
¼ cup finely chopped celery

Steps:

  • Place ham, mayonnaise, mustard, hot pepper sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, celery salt, black pepper, paprika, and caraway seeds in a large mixing bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Use an immersion blender or food processor to puree the ingredients to your desired texture; stir in onion and celery. Chill before serving.
