Hot Cocoa Mix image

I make this at the beginning of the cold weather, and have it ready all winter. Vary the flavor of your mix by trying flavored nondairy creamer; I like the cinnamon.

Number Of Ingredients 4

10 cups dry milk powder
4 ¾ cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 ¾ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ¾ cups powdered non-dairy creamer

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine milk powder, confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder, and creamer. Stir till thoroughly combined. Store cocoa mixture in an airtight container. Makes about 15 cups mix, or enough for about 45 servings.
  • For 1 serving, place 1/3 cup cocoa mixture in a coffee cup or mug, and add 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir to dissolve. Top with dollop of whipped cream or a few marshmallows, if desired.

1 cup dry NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
1/4 cup NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Powdered Coffee Creamer
Pinch salt

Steps:

  • PLACE all ingredients in medium bowl. Whisk until evenly blended. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature until ready to use or package. Makes about 2 cups mix.

  • Spoon 4 tablespoons of cocoa mix into mug. Add 1 cup boiling water; stir well.

This is my kids favorite homemade cocoa recipe. This recipe was made for them (and passed down to them) by their Grammy. It is perfect for warming up kids (and parents) after raking leaves or playing in the snow!

7 cups non-fat powdered milk
1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar
2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups non-dairy powdered coffee creamer
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup mini chocolate chip (or 1 cup regular chocolate chips, chopped into smaller bits)

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients together and put in a large container with a lid.
  • To make a single cup of cocoa: 1/3 cup of mix stirred with 3/4 cup of boiling water until chips begin to melt. Just adjust these measurements according to size of your cup.
