MELT IN YOUR MOUTH BUTTER COOKIES
This is my sister-in-law's recipe that I made for the first time this Valentine's Day, and have since made I don't know how many more batches! It's quite similar (but not identical) to some of the other butter cookie recipes on this website, but I didn't see any others that had a recipe for icing (and I just can't imagine them without)!!

DELICIOUS MELT IN YOUT MOUTH BUTTER COOKIES
My entire family loves these cookies, they disappear as soon as they come out of the oven. I share them every year with my team of volunteers at Bible camp. I know you will love them to. Remember to add the flour in small increments 1/4 cup at a time to ensure a perfect melt in your mouth cookie.

Steps:
- 1. Cream room temperature butter with sugar until light and fluffy on medium with an electric mixer. Add Vanilla and one of the add ins if you so choose. The cookies are great alone and only get better with one of the add ins.
- 2. Sift flour and combine with creamed butter mixture , decrease speed to low. Scrapping down sides often to keep mixture combined.
- 3. Place cookies on sheet with at least 1 inch in between, they will spread. With 2 fingers dusted with confectioners(powder) sugar flatten the cookie down gently
- 4. Bake cookies in a 400 degree oven on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone liner until light golden brown. Do not leave the kitchen watch the cookies so they don't burn. they should bake in 10-12 minutes. I use a cookie scooper (looks like a small ice cream scoop)
