These light and fluffy biscuits, made with all-purpose and whole wheat flour, are perfect for breakfast or dinner.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon white sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ cup butter
1 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in bowl. Cut in butter with a knife or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in buttermilk until just moistened.
  • Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface; knead gently 8 to 10 times. Roll to about 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven until biscuits are lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes.

Wheat biscuit is made with completely whole wheat flour, butter and sugar. It is one healthy and perfect snack to munch on with a sip of hot tea in the evenings.

150g butter - unsalted (room temperature)
70g sugar - powdered
250g wheat flour
milk - if required
baking tray or cake tin
butter or oil - to grease

Steps:

  • Instructions Add unsalted butter into a bowl, at room temperature. Beat it using a hand whisk or beater. Beat until it turns pale whitish. Now, add powdered sugar and continue beating until sugar dissolves and combines well. Add the wheat flour and combine well to form a dough. Use milk if required Knead 2 minutes. Make small balls of dough and flatten it and give it prefered shape. Grease a baking tin or cake tin using a parchment paper and butter. place it on the tray. Preheat the oven @180 C and bake it for 12-15 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if it is baked completely. It should come out dry. Remove from oven. Let it cool completely. Enjoy it with a hot cup of tea!

1 cup Wheat Flour
1 cup Semolina
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Ghee
1/2 cup Warm Milk
1 tablespoon Cardamom Powder
1/2 kg Ghee For Deep Frying

Steps:

  • For it take one bowl of wheat flour, one bowl of semolina, one bowl of sugar, half bowl of ghee, half cup of warm milk and cardamom powder.
  • Add sugar in warm milk and mix it nicely. Keep 2-3 spoon sugar aside.
  • Take one big mixing bowl and add wheat flour, semolina, cardamom powder. Mix all of them well.
  • Then add ghee in it and mix it well. Add ghee slowly-slowly as per requirement.
  • Now add milk that we prepared by adding sugar and knead a dough of it. The should not be very tight nor too soft.
  • When dough is kneaded then add two-three spoon of sugar that we kept aside and again knead it nicely and make the dough smooth.
  • Now take small portion of dough and make a round ball of it and then press it slightly. Then make design on it using fork or any utensil from the kitchen and then keep it in a plate.
  • Same way make all the biscuits and keep them in a plate.
  • Now keep a wok on gas and pour ghee in it for deep frying the biscuits and let it heat. When ghee gets highly heated then add biscuits in the ghee and deep fry them. (Add biscuits in highly hot oil only otherwise they will get spread in the ghee)
  • When they starts to cook then make the flame low and then deep fry them as this way they will get deep fried from inside as well and will become crispy.
  • Deep fry them by turning till they gets golden brown. When they gets golden brown then take them out in a plate and on a napkin so that napkin can absorb extra ghee.
  • Same way deep fry all the biscuits and our tasty "Wheat Flour Biscuits" are ready to serve.
