DELICIOUS DEEP FRIED PICKLES
I have made these for a few years now, and have converted many people into huge fans using this recipe! Great as an appy for those willing to try new things! (It is slightly messy!) Serve with ranch dip or dip of your choice.

- Combine bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl; set aside. Whisk egg and milk together in a separate bowl. Dip dill pickle spears into the egg mixture, then into the bread crumb mixture until well-coated. Dip the pickles in the egg and bread crumb mixtures a second time so each spear is double coated. Arrange pickles in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the freezer until the breading is set, about 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Fry the pickles in the preheated oil until light golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

DEEP FRIED KOOL-AID
Some of you might have heard about Deep Fried Kool-Aid being sold at the state fair that's so deliz that the news stations are making it while on live TV. - 1. Beat eggs and sugar together. Slowly add milk while beating slowly. Add flour, 1/4 cup of dry kool-aid powder,salt and baking powder then beat till nice and creamy. The batter should be bright pink. Add more Kool-Aid powder as desired. Cook in hot vegetable oil for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove when batter is golden brown and crispy. Roll in mixture of the remaining 1/4 cup Kool-Aid powder and the 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Allow to cool a bit before eating so it doesn't burn your mouth. Taste best with a glass of cold Kool-Aid to drink.
DEEP-FRIED SWEET POTATO FRIES
Steps:
- Turn on the deep-fryer to preheat. Set to 325°.
- To prepare the sweet potatoes, begin by peeling them. Next, cut them into large round slices about 1/2″ thick. Then you will need to cut each slab of sweet potato into shoestring strips as seen above.
- FIRST FRY - Begin by frying them once at a lower 325° to cook the sweet potatoes all the way through. This takes about 6-8 minutes and depends on the exact size of your cut. Drain on paper towels. Now, let them rest to cool off for about 2-3 minutes and for the remaining moisture to come back to the surface.
- Finally, turn up the heat on the deep fryer for a second cook at 375°. Then add the sweet potato fries back into the deep fryer for a quick 2-minute deep-frying. Drain again on a paper towel.
- As soon as the second fry is done, drain them on paper towels, the seasoning needs to go on. I liberally salt them and then sprinkle on sweet paprika.

- Choose a deep-frying method. You can either fry your chicken on the stove or use a deep-frying appliance. If you decide to use a pot, choose a deep pot with thick sides.
- Fill the pot or deep-fryer with frying oil. Leave about 4 inches (10 centimeters) of space at the top to allow for splattering. Choose a frying oil that has a HIGH smoke point.
- Heat the oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). If you’re using a fryer, follow the manufacturer instructions when heating the oil. If you’re using a pot, place the oil on your stove over medium-high heat.
- Fry a batch of chicken. Use tongs or a slotted metal spoon to place a few pieces of chicken in the hot oil. Each piece of chicken should be able to rest without touching any other pieces of chicken.
- Brown the chicken. Cook the chicken in the hot oil for 15-20 minutes, turning the pieces if necessary. If the batter turns dark brown after just a few minutes, your oil is too hot.
- Test the temperature of the chicken. Use tongs to move a large piece of chicken from the oil to a plate. Next, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken.
- Place the batch on a wire rack to cool. Some people like to place the chicken on a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up excess oil. However, this method will steam the surface of the chicken, creating soggy fried pieces.
