DEEP FRIED BREADED MUSHROOMS
These breaded mushrooms are marinated for a gorgeous depth of flavour, then deep fried for an extra crunchy finish!

- In a zip lock bag add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Give it a stir with a fork to blend, then add in your mushrooms and thyme. Zip the bag shut and give it a good swish around with your hands.
- Leave to marinate for 30mins - 1hour, shaking about every now and then to distribute the marinade properly. Careful, the mushrooms will shrink considerably (due to salt/vinegar) if lest for a long period of time, so just keep an eye on them.
- Set up 3 bowls: 1st is your flour with a pinch of salt and pepper, 2nd is your beaten egg and 3rd is your Panko with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Take a few mushrooms, shake off the marinade then pop in the flour, then egg and finish in the breadcrumbs. Really ensure you fully coat each mushroom at each stage, especially the last one (Panko). Repeat with all mushrooms.
- Heat up oil in a deep pot/pan to 180C/356F. In batches carefully lower the mushrooms into the oil on a slotted spoon. Allow to fry for 2-3mins, or until nicely golden. Stir them about a bit to ensure they get an even fry. Carefully remove with a slotted spoon and place on a cooling rack with paper towels underneath (don't place directly on paper towels or they steam and go soggy).

- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and garlic salt. Mix in egg and water until smooth.
- Heat the oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Test to see if oil is hot by frying a drop of batter. If it sizzles and floats to the top, the oil is ready.
- Dip mushrooms into the batter and then place in the hot oil. Fry a few at a time so they are not crowded, until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Just a quick and easy recipe. I tried to find one on here, but this is the bare bones and very yummy!

Steps:
- Wash the mushrooms and remove most of the stem.
- Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel.
- Coat mushrooms with flour, lightly tap to remove excess flour.
- Dip in eggs.
- Coat with bread crumbs.
- Set on a rack for a few minutes, so batter sets/dries.
- Heat the oil in the deep fryer to 375 degrees. Pay close attention to grease while it heats. Cooking with oil at high heat levels can be dangerous!
- Deep fry mushrooms in batches for approximately 3- 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve.
CRISPY DEEP-FRIED BREADED MUSHROOMS
Breaded mushrooms get that true, crispy crust when deep-fried. Trust me, these deep-fried breaded mushrooms are the best out there!

- Clean mushrooms and sprinkle with some salt. Set aside while you prepare your breading station.
- Bring out 3 descent-sized Tupperware containers with lids. These will be part of your breading station. Alternatively, you can use mixing bowls if you like.
- In one container, place the flour. oregano, garlic powder, cayenne, black pepper, salt. red chili flakes, basil, and thyme. Mix to combine. In another container, break in the eggs and beat together with 1/8 cup milk. In the final container, add the breadcrumbs. I usually add a touch of salt, pepper, and garlic powder here (and some more red chili flakes for the spice lovers!)
- Working in batches, place mushrooms in flour mixture. Put on lid and shake until mushrooms are fully coated. Transfer those mushrooms to the egg mixture and shake until fully coated again. Finally, move the mushrooms to the breadcrumbs and shake until evenly coated. Place coated mushrooms on a separate, clean plate and repeat until all mushrooms are coated.
- Pour enough oil into your pan that will allow you to deep-fry the mushrooms. Anywhere from 1-2 inches. Heat to 350F (a candy thermometer is best here.) When the oil is hot, add the mushrooms in small batches, about 6 mushrooms at a time. Deep-fry for 6-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through so you get a nice, golden brown color on the mushrooms. Times will vary depending on your temperature. NOTE: Oil temperature will drop drastically when you add the mushrooms in, so before you move onto your next batch of mushrooms, make sure the oil reheats to 350F.
- Remove from oil and place them in a bowl that is lined with paper towel to catch any oil drippings. Cook until all the mushrooms are completed.
- Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce!

- Mix the flour, garlic powder, salt, and za'atar in the first bowl.
- Whisk the eggs and milk together in the second bowl.
- Put the bread crumbs into the third bowl.
- Pour about two inches of vegetable oil into your frying pot and heat until the oil is hot enough for frying.
- Take the prepared mushrooms and coat them well in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, again until well coated, and finally put the mushrooms into the breadcrumbs and coat.
- Place coated mushrooms into the hot oil until golden brown, turning once.
- Remove and place on a tray lined with paper towels to soak up the excess oil.

- Add the mayonnaise to a bowl. Stir in the garlic and the chopped chives.Leave in the fridge until you are ready to use it.
- Clean the mushrooms by using a vegetable brush or kitchen paper. Do not wash the mushrooms.Turn on the deep fat fryer to high.

DEEP FRIED BREADED MUSHROOMS
This is a great snack that I like to make with my mushrooms. I prefer Panko bread crumbs for deep frying as they always come out nice and crispy. Does not have to be made in a deep fryer, but definitely helps with taste and even crispness. You can always change seasoning amounts to taste or use different ones like italian seasoning :)
