Famous in the Low Country of Georgia and South Carolina. This boil is done best on an outdoor cooker. It has sausage, shrimp, crab, potatoes and corn for an all-in-one pot all-you-can-eat buffet!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®), or to taste
5 pounds new potatoes
3 (16 ounce) packages cooked kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
8 ears fresh corn, husks and silks removed
5 pounds whole crab, broken into pieces
4 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

Steps:

  • Heat a large pot of water over an outdoor cooker, or medium-high heat indoors. Add Old Bay Seasoning to taste, and bring to a boil. Add potatoes, and sausage, and cook for about 10 minutes. Add the corn and crab; cook for another 5 minutes, then add the shrimp when everything else is almost done, and cook for another 3 or 4 minutes.
  • Drain off the water and pour the contents out onto a picnic table covered with newspaper. Grab a paper plate and a beer and enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 ounces beer
1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
1/4 lb assorted sausage per person (cut into 1 inch pieces ( I used 1/2 Italian sausage and 1/2 smoked sausage))
3 small potatoes per person (I used red and white)
1 ear of corn per person (cut in half)
1/4 to 1/2 lb shrimp per person (I used frozen shell on)
lemons (tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for serving)

Steps:

  • Fill a very large pot halfway with water, beer and the Old Bay seasoning. Bring liquid to a boil.
  • Add sausage and cook for 20 minutes on medium high heat.
  • Add potatoes and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Add corn and cook for 8 more minutes.
  • Finally add shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.
  • Serve with lemons and cocktail and tartar sauce.

This recipe belonged to my brother and he made them in July 4th of this year. He makes them for July 4th, Labor Day, Memorial Day and birthdays. He makes alot of them and serve by pouring onto a newspaper covered table and we dig in. It is so delicious and tasty. We love it.

5 - ears corn
6 - links good smoked sausage (beef or pork)
15 - new potatoes, small to medium
6 pound(s) medium shrimp
2 teaspoon(s) seasoned salt
1 package(s) crab or shrimp boil
6 tablespoon(s) old bay seasoning

Steps:

  • Shuck and clean corn; break corn in halves. Cut sausage into 2- to 3-inch pieces. Wash the potatoes; place them in a boiler full of water over medium-high heat in an 8-gallon pot or larger, half filled with water, place the package of crab and shrimp boil and seasoned salt in water. Bring the water to rolling boil; put in sausage and let them boil for 10 minutes. Remove the potatoes from their pot and place down in the pot with corn and sausage. Cook another 10 minutes. Wash the shrimp and add to the pot with the other. Sprinkle the Old Bay seasoning and cook for 2 minutes more. Cut off heat and allow the entire pot to sit for about 5 minutes. Serve with cocktail sauce and melted butter.
  • When we have alot of people come and I make three or four times all ingredients. Serve by pouring boil onto a newspaper covered table.

  • Add shrimp when potatoes are almost tender and everything else is almost done; cook until shrimp are just cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes longer.
  • Drain off and discard the water. Pour the contents out onto a picnic table covered with newspaper.
