ŠUNKOFLEKY
I haven't yet met a person who hasn't enjoyed this family friendly meal (exception are vegetarians of course!). It's simple to put together with only a few key ingredients. You can have sunkofleky put together in no time to serve for your next family meal.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.
- Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packaging.
- Chop the ham into very small cubes. Add olive oil to a frying pan and fry ham until lightly caramelised.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with milk. Add the ham, pasta (once cooked), and salt & pepper to season. While the pasta is still hot, add the butter and mix all ingredients together.
- Pour the pasta into a greased baking dish or tray and if needed, use a spoon to evenly distribute the ham pieces throughout the pasta. Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown and egg cooked all the way through.
CZECH ŠUNKAFLEKY (HAM & NOODLES)
Being from the poorer side of town, I grew up on economical dishes passed down from my Baba from Czechoslovakia. This is still a favorite of my German husband and Czech family.

Steps:
- 1. After baking a ham I grind the leftovers and freeze in 1 pound packs. Defrost 1 pound in microwave for this and keep warm. Do not heat in pot or it will dry out.
- 2. Cook the noodles in a dutch oven per package directions for al dente and drain in colandar. Put noodles back in pot.
- 3. Cut the butter up on top of the noodles and toss until melted and mixed well without breaking up the noodles.
- 4. Add the heated ground ham to the noodles, sprinkling onion powder and ground black pepper to taste on top and toss.
- 5. Serve in bowls..depending on the size of the bowl, you can feed a nice size family with this or have it for more than one meal.

Steps:
- Grease the baking dish thoroughly with butter. I used a 9x12 inches cast iron casserole dish.
- Heat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C) without hot air circulation.
- Cook the pasta in salt water al dente, following the manufacture's instructions.
- Meanwhile, dice the bacon into pieces about 1/2 inch in size and fry them in a pan with butter.
- Crack the eggs into a separate bowl, beat them gently with a fork, and flavor them with salt.
- Strain the pasta, put it into a larger bowl, and mix in butter, until it dissolves.
- Mix the still-hot pasta with fried bacon, flavor with salt and pepper, add eggs.
- Layer the pasta blend into the greased dish and bake for 30 minutes until the surface turns to gold.
- Let šunkofleky a bit cool down, cut in squares, and put it on the plate. Garnish with green parsley.
- Serve with pickles.

HAM AND NOODLE CASSEROLE
Need a simple casserole sure to please the kids? I served this to friends who later left for Kenya...their girls were pining for it overseas, and you can bet I served it to them again when they returned to the States for a visit! (Talk about easy to please!) Nothing gourmet here, just yummy and great with salad and crispy garlic bread. (Recipe via my sister, who says she got it from Southern Living way back when...)
