1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons dry sherry
½ teaspoon curry powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 (8 ounce) jar mango chutney, finely chopped
⅓ cup sliced green onion

Steps:

  • Beat Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sherry, curry powder, and salt together in a bowl; spread onto a serving platter into a 1/2-inch layer. Cover platter with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
  • Spread chutney over cheese layer and top with green onion.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 teaspoons curry powder
1 jar (8 ounces) chutney
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
Toasted bread or assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and curry until smooth. Spread in an ungreased 9-in. pie plate. Top with chutney; sprinkle with pecans and bacon. Serve with bread or crackers.

English muffins, cheese, olives and curry make this wonderfully satisfying appetizer. If you like, you may add some sliced almonds to the spread, or add crumbled crisp bacon.

1 (4.25 ounce) can black olives, chopped
½ cup pitted green olives, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped green onion, or to taste
1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon curry powder
6 English muffins, split in half

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine olives, green onions, cheese, salt and curry powder. Spread this mixture on top of the sliced muffins. Arrange muffins on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) until cheese is melted and slightly browned, about 10 minutes. Cut muffins into bite-sized wedges.

This is THE most fabulous party appetizer. I had this at an after holiday party and it was by far the most requested recipe (my Recipe #163601 was the second!) Be sure to make ahead because it should chill at least 4 hours.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (room temperature)
6 tablespoons sherry wine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (8 ounce) jar mango chutney
1/2 cup peanuts, chopped
1/2 cup green onion, chopped
1/2 cup coconut, grated

Steps:

  • Blend pate ingredients together until combined.
  • Line an 8" cake pan with plastic wrap and fill pan with cheese mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and chill 4 hours.
  • NOTE: Can be frozen at this point. Defrost at room temperature before proceeding.
  • Unmold pate on a large platter. Pour chutney over, then sprinkle with peanuts, onions, and coconut.
  • Serve with crackers. ENJOY!

Chutney Glazed Cheese Pâté image

What a combination of flavors! From a recipe card set, this appetizer disappears quickly whenever I make it. Passive time is 1 hour chill time.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 lb cheddar cheese, shredded
3 tablespoons dry sherry
3/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mango chutney
1/2 cup green onion, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese with the shredded cheese until well mixed. Do this by hand or in a food processor using a plastic blade.
  • Mix in the sherry, curry powder and salt until well blended.
  • Shape into a cake, about 5 inches in diameter, onto serving plate. Cover and chill at least 1 hour or as long as overnight.
  • Before serving, pile mango chutney and green onions on top. Surround with crisp sesame or whole wheat crackers. Guests can either dip into the cheese or spread it with a knife.
