1 (6 pound) bone-in turkey breast
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix

Steps:

  • Rinse the turkey breast and pat dry. Cut off any excess skin, but leave the skin covering the breast. Rub onion soup mix all over outside of the turkey and under the skin. Place in a slow cooker. Cover, and cook on High for 1 hour, then set to Low, and cook for 7 hours.

I do love green chilies. I was happy to find this simple recipe for green (verde) chile turkey. This is not too spicy and makes wonderful wrap sandwiches. I also use it for main dish servings with mashed potatoes.

1 (2 1/2 lb) turkey breast halves, thawed, skin removed
1 (16 ounce) jar mild green chili salsa
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium potato, chopped
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon cumin
6 flour tortillas, warmed (8 inches in diameter)

Steps:

  • Place the turkey breast half in a 3-1/2 quart crockpot.
  • Combine remaining ingredients, stirring, and pour over the turkey.
  • Cover crockpot and cook on LO heat for 8 to 10 hours.
  • To serve: cut the turkey into slices and wrap (with some sauce) in the warmed tortillas.
