1 quart 4 cups apple juice or apple cider
1 gallon cold water
3 stems fresh rosemary
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
¾ cup kosher salt
1½ cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons peppercorns
4 whole bay leaves
peel of 2 large oranges
5 pound boneless fresh turkey breast (thawed, if frozen)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon dried sage
2 teaspoons fresh chopped rosemary leaves
Zest of 1 large orange
3 celery ribs (each cut into thirds)
2 yellow onions (peeled and halved)
3 carrots (washed & halved lengthwise)
1 cup chicken broth
6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Steps:

  • Combine all brine ingredients in a large nonreactive pot. Heat and stir, about 5-10 minutes, or until sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and cool completely. Add the turkey breast, cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
  • Set slow-cooker to HIGH and spray the interior with nonstick spray.
  • Remove the turkey from the pot and rinse it thoroughly with cold water, and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • Place the celery, onions, and carrots in the bottom of the slow-cooker, and pour the broth over the vegetables.
  • Set the turkey breast on top of the vegetables and pour melted butter over the turkey.
  • Sprinkle the breast with salt, black pepper, sage, rosemary and orange zest.
  • Cover the slow-cooker and cook on HIGH 2 hours, reduce the temperature to LOW and cook an additional 1-2 hours or until the internal temperature of the middle of the turkey breast registers 165°F-168°F.
  • Remove the breast from the slow-cooker, cover with foil and let it rest 15 minutes.
  • Cut into ½-inch slices and serve.
  • Enjoy!

1 (10 pound) boneless turkey breast
2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix
¾ cup water
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon seasoned salt (such as Season-All®)
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano

Steps:

  • Place turkey breast into a large slow cooker. Whisk onion soup mix and water in a bowl and pour the mixture over the turkey breast, spreading it out to evenly cover the meat.
  • Stir garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, seasoned salt, basil, and oregano in a bowl until thoroughly combined; sprinkle the seasonings over the turkey breast.
  • Cook on Low until turkey is very tender and the seasonings have flavored the meat, 8 to 9 hours. An instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast should read at least 165 degrees F (75 degrees C).

This is a simple recipe for a Turkey Breast on the bone. It comes out very moist. The next day I take the remaining turkey meat & make open faced turkey sandwiches (1 can Campbell's Turkey Gravy mixed with 1 can of Campbell's Mushroom Gravy in large skillet - heat on medium then add turkey meat, reduce heat & simmer on low until ready to serve on sliced bread).

5 1/2 lbs turkey breast (I use bone in but you can also use boneless)
1 large onion (sliced into 4 thick slices)
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth (I usually use College Inn)
salt
pepper
garlic powder
2 raw garlic cloves
extra virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • Wash & dry turkey breast. Leave skin on.
  • Rub entire breast with olive oil. Season entire breast with salt, pepper, & garlic powder (including under the skin). Top with 2 cloves of raw garlic.
  • Coat bottom of crock pot with olive oil.
  • Add the 4 thick slices of onion to crock.
  • Place turkey breast on top of the onion (onion makes a little shelf for breast so it does not stick to bottom of crock).
  • Add the 2 cans of broth to bottom of crock (try not to wash off the seasoning on the turkey breast).
  • Cover with lid & cook on high x 1 hr then low for 6-8 hrs (or just cook on low for 8-10 hrs.).

6 -6 1/2 lbs turkey breast
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
salt and pepper
1 medium onion
4 garlic cloves

Steps:

  • Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • Rub turkey all over with the oil.
  • Carefully pull back skin over breast and rub with seasonings.
  • Place breast, meaty side up into a 5 quart slow cooker.
  • Peel the onion, cut it into quarters and place around the edges of the pot.
  • Peel the garlic cloves and place around the sides of the cooker (maybe rub some minced under the skin).
  • Cook for 9 hours if frozen or 7 ½ hours if not frozen on low or to 170 degree internal temperature.
  • Let bird rest 10 minutes before carving.
  • Discard vegetables.

6 lbs Boneless Skinless Turkey Breasts
1 large onion (Sliced)
4 Tbsp Butter (melted)
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Dried Thyme Leaves
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
For the Gravy:
1 cup juices from the crock pot
1 cup chicken broth
2 Tbsp Cornstarch
1/4 cup Cold Water

Steps:

  • Combine the butter, garlic, paprika, thyme, salt and pepper together in a small bowl.
  • Place the sliced onions at the bottom of a 6 quart crock pot. Place the turkey breast on top.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the top of the ingredients in the crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2.5-3 hours until the turkey breast reaching an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  • Remove the turkey breast from the crock pot and let sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Transfer 1 cup of the sauce from the crock pot to a small saucepan and stir in the chicken broth.
  • Heat over medium high heat until the mixture starts to boil slightly.
  • Combine the cornstarch and water together in a small bowl. Whisk the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens to the consistency that you prefer.
  • Slice the turkey and serve with the gravy drizzled over the top and enjoy!
