SLOW COOKER STICKY CHICKEN WINGS



Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken Wings image

The easiest wings you will ever make. Just throw everything into the crockpot and you're set! Easy peasy!

Provided by Chungah Rhee

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 pounds chicken wings
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1/3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Sriracha, or more, to taste
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, honey, garlic, Sriracha, ginger powder, pepper and onion powder. Place wings into a slow cooker. Stir in soy sauce mixture and gently toss to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 3-4 hours or high heat for 1-2 hours. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water. Stir in mixture into the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high heat for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Preheat oven to broil. Line a baking sheet with foil. Place wings onto the prepared baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until caramelized and slightly charred. Serve immediately with remaining sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and cilantro, if desired.

5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts ((mine were frozen))
1 cup BBQ Sauce
1 cup apricot preserves
1 (1 ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
2 Tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Spray your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place chicken breasts in slow cooker and pour bbq sauce and preserves over top.
  • Sprinkle the dry soup mix over the top, add the water and cover with the lid.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours (a little less if your chicken is not frozen).
  • You can serve this over rice if you would like to.

3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons finely minced gingerroot
4 lbs whole roasting chickens
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 whole orange, sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup orange juice

Steps:

  • Rinse chicken thoroughly and drain well. Pat the chicken with paper towels to dry well. Stuff garlic and orange slices inside chicken.
  • Spray a 4-6 quart crock pot with nonstick cooking spray and place chicken inside. Combine honey, soy sauce and gingerroot in small bowl and pour over chicken. Cover crock pot. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours. The chicken should be fork tender and thoroughly cooked; 170 degrees into the leg or thigh on an instant read thermometer.
  • Remove chicken from crock pot and cover with foil to keep warm. Mix cornstarch and orange juice in small saucepan and add the juices left in the crock pot. Mix well, transfer to a saucepan, and cook over medium high heat until the sauce boils and thickens, stirring frequently. Serve chicken with sauce.

6 -8 chicken drumsticks
6 -8 slices pancetta
cooking spray
1/2 teaspoon fresh grated gingerroot
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
1/2 cup dried mango
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup honey

Steps:

  • Spray cooking spray in crock pot sides and bottom.
  • Wrap each drumstick in a slice of pancetta. Add drumsticks to the crock pot, seam side of pancetta down in one layer. Add ginger root.
  • In a bowl, stir all ingredients except cornstarch.
  • Cook on low 6-8 hours. Chicken should fall off the bone and be cooked through. There should be no pink color.
  • Drain sauce into saucepan. Cook over low heat until it begins to bubble. Add cornstarch and cook until thickened about 5 minutes. Serve sauce along with chicken. This is good with rice and a salad.

8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
salt and pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup honey
3 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
2 Tablespoons sriracha
1 teaspoon lime juice
4 cups cooked rice
cilantro (for garnish)

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium high heat.
  • Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and place in heated oil. Let cook on a few minutes on each side until just browned.
  • Place seared chicken thighs in slow cooker.
  • Whisk together soy sauce, ketchup, honey, minced garlic, ginger, sriracha and lime juice. Pour over chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped cilantro.
