A friend from church gave me the recipe for this satisfying slow-cooked casserole. It's always one of the first dishes emptied at potlucks, and it can easily be adapted to personal tastes. -Julie Sterchi, Campbellsville, Kentucky

3 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 jar (24 ounces) pasta sauce
2 jars (4-1/2 ounces each) sliced mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Dash pepper
1 package (16 ounces) wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
2 packages (3-1/2 ounces each) sliced pepperoni
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, brown beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, salt, garlic powder, oregano and pepper; heat through., Spoon half the mixture into a 5-qt. slow cooker. Top with half the noodles, pepperoni and cheeses. Repeat layers. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until cheese is melted.

1 package (16 ounces) rigatoni or large tube pasta
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
4 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
2 cans (15 ounces each) pizza sauce
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 package (8 ounces) sliced pepperoni
Chopped fresh basil or arugula, optional

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Drain pasta; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the beef mixture, cheese, pizza sauce, soup and pepperoni. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through. If desired, top with basil before serving.

24 oz jar pasta sauce
15 oz jar alfredo sauce
1 lb box uncooked ziti
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups mini pepperoni, or chopped pepperoni or combination of pepperoni and sausage
3 cups pizza sauce, divided
2 1/2 cups shredded cheese, divided (colby jack, mozzarella or cheddar)
Oregano
Grated parmesan

Steps:

  • Pour pasta sauce and alfredo sauce into greased slow cooker.
  • Add one pound of uncooked ziti and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Top the noodles with mini pepperoni and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese.
  • Mix together the sauces, ziti, pepperoni, water and cheese.
  • Top with 1 1/2 cups of pizza sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, until the pasta is tender. Mine was ready in three hours.
  • If you love saucy pasta, add an additional 1 1/2 cups of pizza sauce and stir it in.
  • Sprinkle the pizza casserole with more shredded cheese, a little oregano and grated parmesan.
  • Replace the lid to allow the cheese to melt.

1 box spiral pasta (uncooked but rinsed)
1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 clove garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 c pepperoni
1 can(s) tomato paste
1 c water
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Spray Large Crockpot 6qt or larger with non-stick spray
  • 2. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the onion, garlic and green bell pepper. Drain excess fat.
  • 3. Rinse pasta (uncooked) and place in the crock-pot with drained ground beef mix. Stir. Tomato paste and water over noodle mix.
  • 4. Top with shredded Mozzarella, Cover and cook on low for 3 hours (no peeking).

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 (24-ounce) jar pasta sauce
1 (7-ounce) package sliced provolone cheese
24 pepperoni slices

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef and sausage in a large pan, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain off fat.
  • Place pan over medium heat and add the onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, oregano, and garlic. Cook until onion and bell pepper are soft. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer mixture to a lightly greased crock pot. Add mozzarella cheese and mix it in.
  • Pour pasta sauce on top of ground beef mixture.
  • Layer provolone slices on top. Layer on pepperoni slices.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours.

1 box Barilla Penne Pasta (or any shaped pasta of choice, really, cooked el dente)
2-3 cans pizza or spaghetti sauce
1 lb. browned ground beef
1 package pepperoni
16 oz. mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Start by cooking your pasta.
  • While the box of pasta is cooking, start browning your beef, then add in one jar of pizza sauce and stir well.
  • Once your pasta is cooked, mix the meat mixture (above) and pasta together, then pour into the slow cooker.
  • I layer the mixture into the slow cooker by putting some pizza sauce at the bottom of the crock pot, then add my noodle/beef mixture, then add some cheese on top, then top with pepperoni. Then I add more pasta/meat, more cheese, then more pepperoni. Layer the top of the casserole with cheese and pepperoni and put the lid on the crockpot.
  • Let it cook for about 1-2 hours on low heat until everything is melted and smelling delicious, then enjoy!
